my brother for wanting to be gentle but I don’t need that right now I need to know where the hell my child is.

“Blaze is in church right now. Took Matthew with him, saying he wasn’t letting him out of his sight until you woke up and he could let you keep him with you,” Pitch Black says with a glint of approval shining in his eyes.

“Why aren’t you with him?” I ask out of curiosity.

“Wasn’t about to leave you unprotected. Not when we know what we’re up against.” He shrugs.

“And what’s that. I know that cunt, Dixie, is behind this. I heard her voice in my house. The spirits even confirmed it,” I say, not having to be discreet with my brother about the shit I hear in my head. He’s lived through it all with our mom and knows I have the gift as well. “What I don’t get is how the fuck did she escape the Field of Mourning at the Institution?

“Yeah, the whore is a part of it, but she’s not the only one we need to worry about. At least for right now. This goes beyond just you and Mark, Ray-Ray, Irene and Arlene are with her.” My body grows taut at the mention of two woman who are even more insane than Dixie.

“Where’s Tyres, Brake, and Breaker?” I ask, unsure of what they’ll do if they find out their mothers were no longer in the place they were supposed to rot for eternity.

“Tyres and Brake are with Blaze and his brothers finding out what’s going on. Breaker is at the clubhouse back home going on a tear alongside Ryder. They’re pissed and demand to know what’s happened,” Pitch Black growls.

“What did happen?” I probe.

“Nothing for you to worry about right now, Ray-Ray.”

“Uh, no. You better finish telling me right this minute or I swear to God I will climb out of this bed and storm out of here and find out for my damn self what is going on. How the fuckin’ hell did those insane bitches get out?” I scream as another voice yells at me. “Oh fuck, it was Arlene. She was the one who was holding my baby.”

Nausea rolls through my stomach and I cover my mouth to stop myself from throwing up. Pitch Black jumps up out of the chair he’d been sitting in, grabs the puke pan, and places it under my chin.

“Easy, Raven. We got this. Your ol’ man is going on a rampage to find them. So are every one of his brothers and I’m here until we find him. I ain’t about to go home without meeting my little bud,” my brother states in an attempt to soothe me.

“What’s going on?” My heart clenches at the sound of my man’s voice.

“Ma-ma-ma-ma,” Matthew squeals.

“She just woke up a few minutes ago,” Pitch Black announces, taking the puke pan and putting it in the sink he washes his hands.

“Hey, Little Bird,” Blaze murmurs, coming to my side of the bed and sitting down next to me.

“Hey, Liam. I’m so sorry,” I whisper, feeling like a failure in protecting both our boys.

“Baby, you’ve got nothing to be sorry for,” he says, placing Matthew next to me then reaches up to cup my cheeks. “I’m going to find our boy then both our boys are coming home where they won’t have to worry about anyone coming after them again.”

“We don’t even have a house anymore,” I mutter.

“Sure we do,” he says, giving me a ruthless grin. “I was saving it as a surprise for you. Though we don’t have any furniture or anything yet. We can worry about that shit later. Right now, Alverez is working on getting your discharge papers. I want you safe at the clubhouse. Once we get there, I want you to focus on taking care of Matthew while my brothers and I find those cunts.”

“I want Dixie when you get her,” I announce. “She was the one who started the fire at the house.”

“And so you’ll have her, Little Bird. She might be dead when you get her but I’ll make sure you see her dead body with your own eyes to assure yourself of her demise,” Blaze snarls.

Nodding, tears slide down my cheeks. “I can hear him crying. He’s scared and I can’t get to him,” I sob, my arms going around Matthew to hold him close.

“I swear to fuck all who’s listening, Little Bird. I’ll bring him home to you,” Blaze promises.

‘Allow him to carry you through the pain.’

I’ll give this to Blaze because I know without a doubt, he’ll stop at nothing to find Mark and carry him back to me.

Chapter Seven

Blaze

Seeing my woman’s tears guts me to the core. She’s been through enough shit and has to go through more.

What’s that saying about trials of life?

You go through so much heartache and pain only to finally have peace. Well, it’s sure as fuck been enough heartache for one lifetime where my ol’ lady’s concerned. Shit, I’ve been dealt enough as well. Having lost my daughter years ago, I shouldn’t have to be scared of losing another child.

Alverez comes in shortly after Raven wakes up and I get her out of the hospital as quick as I can. It was a good thing my truck had her hospital bag in it ready for when she had Mark. We’d wanted to be prepared for when she went into labor. Didn’t think it was going to end like this.

Without wasting time, I wheel Raven out of the hospital and out to my truck. My brothers were all there surrounding us as I step through the doors. We weren’t taking any chances. Pitch Black takes Matthew from Raven and goes to strap him in the car seat while I lift Raven up out of the wheelchair and place her in the front seat.

Closing the door, I round the hood and climb in as my brothers rev the engines of their
