“Yeah,” Tyres answers on the first ring.
“Tyres, it’s Faith,” I stammer.
“Got that, Faith, number’s in my phone. What’s up?” he mutters.
“I just got a call from the guy who stalked me in North Carolina,” I blurt and go on to tell him everything he told me including the part where I have to meet him at some hotel. Chills rake my body at the thought of going to any hotel in order to meet a man I don’t know. But for Alex I’ll do anything.
“Right, we’ll handle this. I’m going to send Steel and Lynch over there to sit with you while we go get our brother,” Tyres declares. “Whatever you do, do not fuckin’ leave that house. Make sure all doors and windows are locked and you don’t open them. Steel has a key and will come in announcing himself as he does so, got me?”
“Yeah, please bring him home safely,” I murmur, trying to keep the tears at bay.
“Got it, Faith, we will bring Axel home,” Tyres states before the line goes dead.
The club will get him. They protect their own and if I were to leave the house now, I’d not only be leaving my one child alone and unprotected, I would be putting my other in danger. I have my second chance with Alex and I’m not about to do anything to ruin it. Meaning I’ll let the club do what they have to, to bring their brother, my husband, home.
Chapter Fourteen
Axel
Stupid fuckin’ motherfucker clipped my back tire when I was on the way home causing me to wreck my damn bike. Then the fuckin’ dickhead had the nerve to drug me with some shit in order to immobilize me. Too bad for him, it wasn’t shit worth a damn. By the time he got me to the hotel, I’d already started to regain my strength back.
As the slimy fucker drags me up the back staircase of the hotel, I do my best to come up with a solid plan in getting out of here.
“I should kill you now and be done with it,” the dickhead snarls, patting my pockets and finding my phone.
Yeah fuckhead try and see what happens. I bit my tongue rather than stating this aloud, as I bide my time to let the drug out of my system a little bit more. Although I wouldn’t have been able to speak regardless due to the tape over my mouth. Even more the fucker thought he’d drugged me enough he didn’t even bother restraining my hands.
Keeping my eyes on him, his gaze on my phone, he grins maliciously when he focuses on me. “Let’s get this party started,” he cackles, putting my phone on speaker.
“Hey, you, what’s taking so long? You know Bruce Willis waits for no one.” My body stills and my blood freezes in my veins at the sound of Faith’s voice. Fuckin’ hell this is the fucker who was after my woman.
“You’ve been dodging my calls,” the dickhead states.
“What do you want? Where’s Alex?” Fuck the fear radiates through the phone as she asks where I am. This fucker needs a bullet between the eyes.
“Where he’ll be unless you do as you’re told and come to me.” She better not come after me, not when she’s carrying our second child.
“Where?” When she asks this, I start screaming through the tape wanting her to hear me, but dickhead simply steps far enough away for her not to hear me.
“Hotel on the corner of Saint Philip and Chartres Street. Go inside and grab the key card under the name of Glacier, get to the room, I’ll be waiting,” the dickhead states, ends the call and tosses the phone onto the bed.
Good, if I can get out of here, I’ll at least be able to use my phone to call my brothers.
If my woman’s as smart as I know she is she’ll call them and let them know what’s going on which is what she’d better do. She shows up here, puts herself in danger for me, I’ll put her over my knee and make sure she doesn’t sit for a week.
While coming up with a plan, I watch dickhead as he paces the length of the room. His gaze coming to me every so often.
“Why? Why did you have to come back into the picture? I had her. She was mine. She’s been mine for years.” What the fuck is this dude rambling on about? “My Faith. She was perfect before you entered her life after her parents moved to this swamp filled state. I was supposed to be with her. Not you. It was supposed to be my kid she had. Not yours. Faith is mine. She is mine. Mine. Mine. And you took her from me.” This guy really is a lunatic.
Dickhead kneels in front of me as he pulls a gun from the back of his jeans. I’d seen it as he paced the room.
“Do you know it was me who caused the accident for her parents? They took her from me. She met you because of them. So, they had to go. Then she married you. I knew you needed to go. I made sure to put the bug in the ears of the Grave Runners. Faith was never supposed to be with you. I end you, kill that fuckin’ kid, and she will be mine,” he sneers, placing the tip of the gun under my chin. “You should have died when they shot you. Now you will.” His eyes move from my face to the gun.
It’s now or never. I don’t get that gun away from him. I’m dead and my ol’ lady will still have this raving lunatic after her.
His gaze comes back to mine and I move throwing myself to the side and lifting my leg to kick him in the face, causing him to stagger backward onto his ass. The gun falling from his hand
