at them as they looked back, seeing magical creatures that she imagined coming to life a distance away from her, not too close. But it was not just that, she could read those kids’ minds and suddenly something unexpected happened. She placed the rabbit and cat into the kid’s mind, while reading his thoughts, the kid suddenly forgot why he was heading back home, he looked at his friend.

“Where are we going again?” the young kid asked his friend.

“Your home, duh!” his friend spoke to him impatiently.

Allison was shocked and realized that she had manipulated that kid’s mind by placing her thoughts into his, making her thoughts overlap with his. Her ability was to read others’ minds and put her thoughts into them telepathically, but she could not force their decisions at all or control their minds. She pulled out her phone and began to text Luis the following message.

“We need to talk, serious talk. Something weird is going on with me.”

Chapter 9

A Darken Soul

Date: September 9th, 2020

Party and partying, slack and slacking, is what some other high schoolers did in the neighbourhoods of Allentown. Brian Vanrod, tall and bulky like football type player in 12th grade, started to head out of his friend’s house to get some air, due to the heavy partying that was going on in the household itself. But something caught Brian’s eye, it was a figure running in the neighbourhood within Allentown. He was pretty slim with short black hair, hazel eyes and white skin, it was Aiden Alves.

Brian ran after him. As Aiden was running, he did not notice until the second that Brian’s fist approached his face, which impacted him and made him fall to the ground.

SMACK!

“Been waiting a long time for this!” as Brian raised up his fist to prepare another punch towards Aiden.

Aiden was recovering from the impactful punch, he spoke wearily “Look, now isn’t the best time for this. I’m serious.”

Brian ignored his remark, “I am not done with you Alves!”

Aiden did not bother to stay down, he reacted hesitatingly with his cloaking and hidden attack abilities, since his body went into survival instinct, not aware of how his abilities trigger on or off suddenly. With a swift and a strike of his punches, phase attacks, Brian got struck on his face, stomach, and sides, causing his face to get a bloody injury, since Aiden was tired of him causing trouble to a lot to others, especially in school. Brian was shocked as he attempted to fight back at Aiden, due to his invisibility and hidden attacks occurring around him.

“What are you?” Brian asked. “You freak!”

Aiden made a run for it from Brian, but his invisibility suddenly turned off uncontrollably, allowing Brian to see where he was going. Thus, Brian chased after him in the neighborhood, Aiden was athletic for his age, but Brian was far more athletic than he was, since he was a former football player for the secondary school of Allentown. As Aiden kept running and running away from Brian, who was slowly catching up to him, he had to think of a way to divert him away for good if possible. He heard a dog barking from a distance, this gave him a brilliant idea.

The barking came from a neighbor that he knew of, a neighbor who gets annoyed a lot, they referred to him as Old Man Grumpkins. Aiden headed around the detached house of Old Man Grumpkins, where he decided to head towards the backyard of where his dog was barking. Aiden jumped and thrust himself onto the wooden panels of the fencing, climbing it, allowing him to get to the other side and enter the backyard of Grumpkins’ property.

BARK! BARK!

The dog in the old man’s backyard began to head towards Aiden even though his invisibility turned on seconds ago, since the dog could detect by scent well. As Brian was climbing the fence, Aiden saw the dog approaching him, he quickly used his phasing in attacks, to give a forceful punch through the fence without breaking it, causing Brian to get hit in the stomach as he attempted to climb the fence. Shortly after that, Aiden fled the backyard with the dog in his way, as he climbed over the fence to get out.

Brian finally climbed over the fence but was approached by the old man’s dog that was barking at him. It was a large male German shepherd type dog, it kept barking and barking, sometime soon an African American senior figure appeared at the back of the house towards the backyard, with an angry stern look.

“What the hell is going on here, boy?” Old Man Grumpkins spoke furiously, as he saw Brian standing there with the dog preventing him from going anywhere. “What are you doing in my backyard, get the hell out of here or I will call the cops on you boy!”

“I can explain--,” Brian stammered and tried to explain the situation.

“Oh, you better have a good explanation,” Grumpkins spoke arrogantly. “On the count of 5, if you don’t get the hell out of here, there will be consequences.”

“Consequences?” Brian said confusingly as the dog continued barking at him.

After a few seconds, Grumpkins walked out of the house, back into the backyard with a metal baseball bat, threatening Brian to get out of his backyard. “Well, you asked for it!”

Brian was forced to run away, he exited his backyard, getting out of there. As Old Man Grumpkins said; “That’s right, you sack of low life, get out!”.

Brian headed home, knowing that his parents were gonna get angry with him which he was severely tired of, since his parents always eventually found out about the fights he picked up in school, or outside of school in general. He entered home, suddenly seeing his parents looking right in front of him, as if
