they were waiting by the front door the entire time, wondering where he was and if he was skipping school in general or any other silly shenanigans.

“What happened to your face?” Brian’s father said furiously.

“Explanation now.” Brian’s mother said firmly.

“I fell down the stairs at a friend’s house,” Brian lied and always made excuses.

“No,” both his parents spoke at the same time.

Brian knew that he did not tell the actual truth to them, he attempted to pass them and go upstairs to his bedroom and ignore his parents, but his parents prevented him from going upstairs. He stood there impatiently and sighing deeply, that his parents were always concerned about him, since he was a troubled kid especially at this day and age.

“Not so fast,” Brian’s father spoke firmly. “We will wait here all day until you tell us what really happened.”

Standing there impatiently, Brian finally answered the truth, “I fought with Aiden Alves, since he punched me back in school not too long ago. Its not just that.”

“AGAIN!” Brian’s father furiously spoke. “What is with you and the Alves kid? What is the grudge you got against him?”

“You don’t understand Dad,” Brian spoke. “There is something absolutely wrong and mental about that kid, he has anger issues and thinks fighting is the solution to everything. I just witnessed him turning invisible and attacking me with these out of nowhere phasing attacks.”

“Alright,” Brian’s mother said. “That is definitely enough hanging out and slacking off at parties, and video games too. From now, we are suspending your bedroom, video games and contact with your slacker friends. That’s enough out of you for today.”

“You don’t understand,” Brian contemplated. “The Superior-Beings are back. I swear!”

“ENOUGH!” Brian’s father spoke loudly. “I am tired of your excuses, Superior-Beings have been extinct almost for a century, for crying out loud. From now on, you will be sleeping in the basement and for the rest of the day, you will clean up all of the garage.”

“All of it?” Brian spoke in shock, since the entire garage was filled with tons of junk, items that needed to be filtered out for potential garage sales, also to help empty out the house more, to be able to conserve storage space.

“YES!” Both of Brian’s parents spoke.

“Get to it now,” Brian’s mother spoke affirmatively to him.

He sighed and headed to the garage in disappointment, for his bedroom getting confiscated, also to work on the junk in the garage all day was gotta be a tiring experience for him. He was not a fan of cleaning, maintaining, a household, he never had the intention to do chores in the house, tasks, or work-related stuff other than the past 3 part-time jobs that he got fired from throughout secondary school. Brian was the type of kid who was stubborn, impatient, rude but despite those attributes, he had potential to be greater but always would throw it down in the drain by slacking, picking on others and doing mischief in his own ways.

Box after box, Brian sighed and started to work through the junk of movies, boardgames, antiques, books, cassette tapes, albums, etc. He worked on it for the next hour, but his temper began to grow more and more, as he kept thinking about Aiden Alves, on what the hell was going on with that guy. How did Alves get these abilities suddenly? Is it really true that the Superior-Being race is back? But why suddenly now? Brian’s thoughts kept filling up with so much curiosity, that he poured his anger and started to kick, punch, and throw some stuff in the garage in anger.

“I swear Alves,” Brian spoke in a low angry tone. “I will find out who you are or what you are. I swear Alves, I will hunt you down one way or another!”

After a few aggravating seconds, the garage itself suddenly felt a draft of cold, which caused Brian’s breath to be visible like cold fog. The room was silent, and a cold draft passed by, but a voice began to speak in Brian’s mind. The voice was eerie, dark, deep, mysterious, and extraterrestrial and cosmic like.

“You want to take down Alves, don’t you?” the dark voice spoke.

Brian was scared, he was trying to think if he was just having thoughts or hallucinations but there was no ghost or figure in the garage to be seen. “Who is this?” Brian stammered nervously.

“I…….am…...the Void of Chaos,” the voice spoke and revealed itself. “I can grant you something more than what Aiden Alves has.”

“This isn’t real,” Brian said, as he kept hearing the voices in his head.

“Its so very real,” the Chaos Void spoke in a low tone. He was breaking the in-universe rules, interacting with the humans directly rather than what Mr. Universe did, putting them in a trance space sequence, then wipe their memories. The Void of Chaos was seemingly aware that Mr. Universe has started to make a new race of Beings, known as Stellar-Beings, except this time they did not have the essence of his darkness which angered him a lot.

“What….do you want?” Brian asked nervously. “What do you mean I will be like Alves?”

“I can grant you powers or abilities,” the Chaos Void spoke. “Enough to take down your enemy Alves. You will have to agree to my terms, which are that you must give up your soul to me if you were to die.”

Brian began to panic, “Powers or abilities? But what happens if I do give up my soul to you and I die?”

The Chaos Void spoke eerily and lied at the last bit of his sentence, “You will end up in Purgatory, a place between Heaven and Hell. Purgatory would be like…. let’s say Earth.”

“How can I trust you?” Brian said in a concerned tone.

“Well, think about it Vanrod, how did Alves and
