“So, I have a hair aura?” Trixie said confusingly.
“Yes,” Allison said and winked. “It depends on who you have a deep connection with, even a boy you like deeply in your grade.”
“Err…come on,” Trixie complained. “There’s no boy that I like. But how do I resolve this issue of my hair being shown like this at school? I tried hair dye and that did not work at all, when the moment Veronica arrived back home, my pastel color showed up and suddenly my entire hairline became white again with the pastel colors returning.”
“Luckily,” Veronica spoke. “That I came prepared for your hair coloring issue.”
She took out a dark-haired medium length wig, that she got yesterday which was a hassle due to her abilities showing publicly a little, by wearing layers upon layers to mitigate the problem. Trixie examined the wig and tried it on, her entire face was covered by the hair. Veronica and the others giggled; “No you silly, you’re wearing it backwards. Turn it around.”
Trixie rotated the wig and it fitted exactly right, while tying up her original hair to help fit it in and without the colors being noticeable by the naked eye.
“Alright guys,” Aiden spoke. “Are everyone’s problems mitigated? If so, we gotta attend school today, I know it may be hard for all of us, but our parents could get suspicious that we were crashing at Luis’s place for a huge school project. I do not know if that excuse really works or if Luis’s Mom found out that we all crashed in the basement of his place. Still though, we gotta attend school and try to control our abilities and powers as much as possible, if it gets too nasty or out of control, we will immediately meet up during lunch break and discuss it further. Deal?”
The four nodded at Aiden, as they started to head towards school with their backpacks.

The five entered the school nervously, as they were heading to their designated classrooms with steadiness and awareness increased in case their abilities were noticed by others. The hallways were filled with 9th to 12th graders, as they all headed to their designated classrooms, none of them gave curious looks to Luis, Trixie, and Allison. Aiden and Veronica looked a little out of the ordinary, where both were dressed up in a lot of layers of clothing which looked a bit strange to others especially during the month of September which is still pretty warm. The few students who stared at Aiden and Veronica at first curiously but later shrugged off, did not bother since it was high school, where everyone was just ordinary jocks.
They entered their respective classrooms. Trixie headed into her class and sat next to Alexandra. Alexandra stared at her, she was a girl full of freckles with glasses and dark hair. She got very curious on what was going on with Trixie, since she heard the rumor about her screaming and running away during a game of manhunt after Luis’s birthday party, according to other classmates. She could see and tell that Trixie’s hands were shaking in fear, while Trixie was biting her lips in nervousness.
“You okay Trix?” Alexandra asked wondering.
“Yeah, yeah,” Trixie answered in a stammered tone. “I’m fine. I’m fine.”
“I heard you screamed and ran away during manhunt,” Alexandra said. “Talk to me, are you sure you okay?”
“I’m fine Alexa,” Trixie called her by her nickname, since it was confusing with other Alex’s existing in the school. Even though deep-down Trixie was saddened because she was leaving her best friend since childhood out of these personal shenanigans of her powers and abilities. She really wanted to tell Alexandra her secrets and share it, but it could cause more problems throughout the school, like a rumor spreading like wildfire.
“Look,” Alexandra spoke. “I understand if you don’t want to talk about it now. We can discuss it later, whenever you want. Alright? Up to you.”
Trixie nodded while small beads of sweat trickling down her forehead, due to the wig overlapping her original hair lining, which caused her to sweat a little, too many layers overlapping. She pulled out her phone and put on the front camera view, adjusted her wig, to make sure none of the white or pastel color hair linings were visible.
“Tracy, put your phone away,” Miss Halls spoke aloud as the class started.
Trixie nodded and put her phone away to focus on English class. The class continued as they discussed about books to read for reading club assignments, while Trixie looked at a boy sitting next to her, due to him staring at her. Deep down, Trixie smiled and blushed, since she did have a liking for that boy, since in the past he always was funny back in elementary school and cheered troubled kids up a lot. This deep feeling connection that Trixie had emotionally, caused another pastel hair strand color to appear underneath her wig, which was minted green pastel color. She knew deep down that she must have developed another hair strand color underneath her wig, she wanted to look at herself badly with her phone, readjust the wig and make sure its not visible, but class was in progress.
As Allison, Veronica and Luis headed to their advanced functions math classroom, Luis kept throwing out forks, sharp pencil objects that he collected telepathically into the trash cans in the hallways, which irritated him a lot. He had to come up with a creative solution like Veronica said, as he kept throwing away more of the objects into the trash can, his eye caught the attention of the school janitor about to open the storage closet. This gave a unique idea to be able to mitigate the problem at hand. He told Veronica and Allison that
