Atlas struggled with the idea of what to make with his remaining pieces before he remembered Ramma’s words about learning new patterns. Making the two items took him almost ten minutes, with the extreme speed that his body completed the motions. This left him plenty of time to do some more crafting before he went in search of quests.
“Hey, Master Ramma? Can I trouble you to teach me some new patterns?” Atlas called through the building.
“What?” the elf called through the building as Atlas heard wood rattling around.
“I wanted to learn more patterns.”
“Hell, you haven’t even left yet. What could you possibly have to learn?” the leatherworker complained as he came back into the room. “I don’t put up with people wasting my time young man.”
“I got my leatherworking to level three and wanted to learn the new patterns,” Atlas explained.
The leatherworker looked at Atlas and then looked to the floor before frowning, “Since you’re obviously new around here, I’m going to cut you a break this time. But, if you ever make a mess like that on my floor again, my next hide I tan will be yours. Clean up that mess and I’ll show you the new skills.”
Atlas grimaced as he looked down and noticed all the scraps of leather and tufts of hair littering the floor. “Sorry bout that. I’ll get this cleaned up right away.”
The elf merely grunted and walked to the back again. Atlas shuffled along the floor and picked up the scraps of leather. He also used a few of the larger scraps like a broom and dustpan, sweeping the fur onto the pieces and tossing it outside. Unsure of what to do with the scraps of leather, he opted to put them back in his bag. There was no way to know if they could be useful later. The pieces themselves register as items called Leather Scraps, so surely I can use them somewhere?
“Ramma, I finished up cleaning the place. You still around?” Atlas called into the back. The diminutive man walked out of the back and examined the room. He glanced around and finally nodded.
“Well done. Just remember to do your work outside next time,” Ramma told him before gesturing. Atlas looked at the menu and found the section for trade skill abilities. Two new options appeared on the list. Create Basic Leather Jerkin and Create Basic Leather Pants were the two new options. They each cost 10 copper pieces to learn.
Wincing at the cost, he bought both and watched 20 copper siphon from his bag. Atlas turned and walked to the door.
“Thank you Master Ramma,” Atlas yelled to the back room as he left.
Once outside, he examined the two new abilities and found that both the jerkin and pants required five hides a piece. Damn. Don’t have enough for both. Considering his options, he opted for the jerkin. In the end, he was more likely to be hit in the chest than in the legs by normal attacks.
He pulled out five hides and six strands of the sinew and hit Craft. His body took over and began cutting out the pieces and slowly sewing them together. The jerkin was a little more complicated, so it took him a little over a minute to make the piece but, when finished, he beheld his new chestpiece.

Traits: A jerkin made from low-quality leather. Provides minimal protection for the upper body.
Slipping the piece over his head, he considered his options. I don’t have enough money to learn any new skills and don’t have enough leather to make anything. I guess it’s back to the grind.
Atlas made a trip around the town and talked to the people. He found two quests. The first one was from the Captain of the Guard, Rilmael.
Quest - Deal with the Predators

• Level 1
Quest Rarity: Common
Quest Reward: 50 experience, 30 copper coins.
Description: Rilamel wants you to eliminate 5 bobcats in the surrounding area.

Apparently, the meddling cats were killing some of their domesticated chickens. A woman in the village named Qua gave him the second quest.
Quest - A Quick Errand
Requirements
• Level 1
Quest Rarity: Common
Quest Reward: 70 experience, 40 copper coins.
Description: Qua asked you to find her husband, Tillo, in the forest. She said he entered the forest north of the city in search of a special plant.
Do you wish to accept this quest? Yes/No.
The second quest was pretty vague, but knowing what Atlas did about these kinds of games, he was willing to bet he’d find the man trapped by a monster. While he was searching for quests, he ended up in the woodworkers shop. While it hurt him to spend more money, he knew he needed to spend some money to make money, so he bought a Basic Wood Staff so he could get some more reach. The staff cost 30 copper and had interesting stats on it.

Atlas hadn’t considered a staff would be a dual purpose weapon, but it made sense. The longer reach would be instrumental in his fighting. New staff in hand and his bag slung across his back, he walked into the northern part of the forest. Atlas went on a small killing spree as he finished every little animal he found that had fur. Four squirrels fell to his
