other two a hug too.

“Oh shit, is it about to be a round two?” Craig joked. I was confused.

“Did you see the fight?” KD asked.

“What fight?”

“Your cousins Keke and Tasha were throwing hands.”

“They were fighting?” I shouted. Keisha and Tasha were far from the fighting type. I mean, they could probably handle their own, but that didn’t seem like them.

“Were they? It was like Worldstar worthy.” Craig said.

“Look who I found,” KD said as he turned around; it was my cousin Keisha. Keisha had some Moore features, but she had more of exotic features like her mother. She was a mix of Karin Jinsui, the girl from Instagram, or the actress, Lashontae Heckard.

“Hey, Bre!” She said, hugging me.

“Keke!” I said as I embraced me.

“What are you doing here?” She asked. Even though she was older than me by a year, Keisha was like a big sister to me.

“My boyfriend got invited and brought me along. Don’t worry, I’m about to leave.” I said.

“We were just telling her that she missed the cousins vs. the rollas pay per view special.” Craig joked.

“I’d rather see three against one, I’m just saying,” Jay said.

“You good?” I asked her.

“Yeah, I’m straight. It’s a long story, but one word: Dwayne.” She said. I knew all about her drama with her boyfriend Dwayne, and I could relate. Dwayne and Jemar were very similar.

“Eww, he’s still around?” I said, rolling my eyes. I know I couldn’t talk, but Dwayne was the worst and didn’t deserve Keisha. Keisha had such a good heart and gave him too many chances. There was another girl in their mix, and she has also gotten pregnant twice and miscarried. Dwayne was just toxic.

“Not anymore.” She admitted. I was jumping for joy on the inside.

“Good. Hearing his name makes me itch.”

“Hearing his name makes me want to give that brother some counseling. Such a lost soul.” Craig joked.

“How’s Chianne?” She asked.

“She’s good. Busy working as always.”

“Okay. So what’s going on with you? I feel like we hardly talk anymore. You know, Tasha is in the house.”

“I know. I saw her, and we spoke briefly. Can we talk for a minute?” I whispered. We slowly walked away from the guys and stood near some cars.

“What’s up?” She asked.

“Promise you’re not going to say anything. I’m pregnant.” I finally shared and felt some weight from my shoulder lessen. I cared a lot about what Keisha thought and was scared to tell her.

“What? How? By who?”

“You know how and by my boyfriend. I hope you don’t think I’m out here, “thottin’ and boppin’.”

“I know you’re not, I didn’t mean it like that. Damn, does your mother know?”

“Yeah, and it didn’t go as I thought it would.”

“Does grandma know?”

“You know my mother is best friends with her mother. I’m surprised that she didn’t mention it to you.”

“Well, I have been busy working, going to school, and dealing with my own issues to sit down and catch up with her. But that is strange that she didn’t mention to me, especially since she knows we’re really close. Maybe Aunt Aretha didn’t tell her, she may think that grandma is going to be disappointed. You know how judgmental the family can be.”

“You’re right, but it’s not like I’m having sex with any and everybody. He’s my first, and you know how it is when you’re in love. He’s not a bad guy at all, and we’re thinking about getting a place together. I’ll get my GED and take care of the baby while he works.”

“Wait a minute, are you sure? You’re in the 10th grade- you’re not going to get the full experience of being in high school and graduating. You’re almost finished with school. I think you’re moving a little too fast, boo. You really think that he is going to be there for you and the baby?”

“I know he is Kesh! I’m going to be a mother, and I’m scared, but I know that everything will be okay. Of course, I’m going to miss school, and I did think about dropping out for a year and then go back to graduate after the baby turns one.” I lied. I wasn't ready to tell Keisha everything and didn’t want her to feel bad for me.

“What did your mother say?”

“She said what I expected her to say, “Get the hell out of my house!”.

“So, you’re not on speaking terms with her?” She asked and tears started to well up in my eyes.

“I’m sorry cuzzie poo- You know that you’re like a little sister to me, and I just want you to make the right decision. Not with your heart, but with your mind.” She said.

“Thanks, Kesh, and I understand, but I have to learn some things on my own,” I said, trying to blink my eyes so the tears would go back up. Just then, Jemar walked up to us with another familiar face.

“Long time no see,” Dre said, hugging me.

“I know!” I said, hugging him back then stood next to Jemar. “Keisha, this is my boyfriend,” I grabbed Jemar’s hand.

“Bre talks about you all the time. I can see the resemblance. My name is Jemar.” He said.

“Nice to meet you,” Keisha said. “Y’all know each other?” Keisha asked Dre.

“Yeah, small world, right? My mother used to babysit him when he was five or six years old. I couldn’t wait until he left, he was bad as hell.” Dre joked.

“Small world indeed,” Keisha said, looking Jemar up and down. That look wasn’t a look of approval. What did people see that I didn't?

“Well, we’re not staying long. I’ll catch up with you later.” I said, hugging Keisha. We hugged again then walked away to Jemar’s car.

“Did you do your drop?” I asked him as he pulled out of the parking lot.

“Nah, the nigga didn’t even show up.” He said, annoyed.

“So, are we going home?” I yawned. I was getting tired and was ready to get into the house.

“Yeah, I’m going to drop you off.”

“What? Again?” I shouted.

“Bre, I’m not
