ask, “What about you? What do you think about what I’ve done?”

Matt looks at me and isn’t sure how to answer.

“It’s okay, I’m just curious how you guys see it,” I say.

“You had to do it, Lauren and JJ could have been hurt if you didn’t,” says Matt.

“But luckily, we didn’t run into Lisa at the Haven, that could have been awkward,” jokes Phil to try to lighten the mood in the room.

“I’m glad we didn’t, I was kind of dreading it actually,” says Matt.

“I hope she is doing okay though,” says Jon.

“I’m sure she is, but she got what she wanted. She got away from us here,” I say.

“It doesn’t make sense why she would leave her big house here in CO for a small room at the Haven,” says Matt.

“What about William letting Jeremy go out with a group of Warriors?” asks Phil.

“What’s that all about?” asks Jon.

“I couldn’t believe William just let Jeremy storm out like that,” says Matt.

“Jeremy is a teenager who thinks he knows it all and probably sees William as the person that is holding him back from doing what he’s wanted to do for a while now,” I say.

“But he’s reckless, and he’ll probably end up dying,” says Matt.

“Some people have to learn the hard way. I know I did when I was a teenager. Bobby G and I argued a ton,” I say.

“You going to let Matt junior do anything reckless?” asks Phil to Matt.

“No way, my child is living in a protective bubble until he’s thirty,” jokes Matt.

“I can’t believe you’re having a kid,” I say to Matt.

“I’ll be that bad of a dad huh?” jokes Matt.

“Doesn’t matter, you have Kylie and she’ll be a great mom,” jokes Phil.

“You will all be great parents,” I say.

“What about you?” asks Phil to me.

I look at Phil and think about me being a parent.

“I’m not sure about that. Lauren and I talked about kids. It was tough with my job and I never wanted to be that parent that was never home,” I say.

“Well those days are over now,” says Jon.

“Very true,” says Matt.

“Ryan are you there?” is heard over my walkie-talkie that is in Bobby G’s kitchen.

The guys and I stop talking after we hear the person ask for me over the walkie-talkie.

I run into Bobby G’s kitchen, grab my walkie-talkie, and say into my walkie-talkie, “This is Ryan.”

“I’ve done some digging around and I found out who attacked the Haven,” says DK over the walkie-talkie.

Matt, Phil, and Jon enter Bobby G’s kitchen.

“Who was it?” I ask into my walkie-talkie.

The guys look at me and try to be quiet.

“It was the brother of the guy that is kidnapped at the Haven. He went on his own and I had nothing to do with it,” says DK over the walkie-talkie.

“What about Jacob?” I ask into my walkie-talkie.

I look at the guys as I wait for DK’s answer.

“He could have, but he’s worried about other things right now,” answers DK over the walkie-talkie.

“Find out where he is,” says Matt to me.

I motion for Matt and the guys to be quiet and then I ask into my walkie-talkie, “Where are you? Are you in Tampa?”

Several seconds go by and DK doesn’t answer, but I’ve become accustomed to waiting for DK’s replies.

“That’s none of your concern for now, but some of our people are around Tampa so be on alert for them,” says DK over the walkie-talkie.

“Some of your group or Jacob’s?” I ask into my walkie-talkie.

DK quickly answers, “My group is with me and we aren’t worried about you right now.”

“He sounds pissed off,” says Matt to Phil and Jon.

“What is Jacob up to?” I ask into my walkie-talkie.

“I’ve been trying to have him steer clear of you, but I’m not sure how much longer he’ll do that,” answers DK over the walkie-talkie.

KNOCK! KNOCK!

I hear the sound of someone knock on something over the walkie-talkie as DK is talking to me.

DK looks at his closed front door and says to me over the walkie-talkie, “I have to go.”

DK turns off his walkie-talkie.

KNOCK! KNOCK!

Someone knocks on DK’s locked front door and shouts from outside, “Open up!”

DK hides the walkie-talkie in an end table drawer and then walks to his closed front door.

DK looks through the peep hole of his front door and he sees Jacob standing on his front porch.

DK opens his front door and asks Jacob, “What’s up? Everything okay?”

“Come with me,” answers Jacob.

DK notices that Jacob is alone, and he asks Jacob, “Where are we going?”

“Don’t worry about it, just get your keys and come with me,” answers Jacob.

DK isn’t sure what Jacob wants and he finds it odd that he just showed up at his house unannounced as Jacob has never done that before.

Jacob notices the hesitation in DK, and he says, “Come on. I want to take you somewhere.”

“Where are we going? Do I need my gear?” asks DK.

“You don’t need anything. It’s safe where we are going,” answers Jacob.

Jacob notices that DK is dressed, and he already has shoes on and says, “I’m not going to say it again. You’re already dressed and ready to go. Just get your keys.”

DK isn’t sure why Jacob is being so persistent about him going with him somewhere.

“You are starting to make me wonder about you,” says Jacob to DK.

DK just looks at Jacob.

“Let’s go,” says Jacob to DK.

DK senses the frustration in Jacob and says, “Okay.”

DK grabs his house keys from a bowl near his front door, closes and locks his front door, and gets into Jacob’s sedan.

DK checks the backseat of Jacob’s sedan and
