Jacob reverses out of DK’s driveway.
“Where are we going?” asks DK.
“It’s a surprise,” answers Jacob as Jacob speeds down the street.
CHAPTER 6
THAT’S MY GUY
Jacob’s sedan stops at the side of a tall building and DK asks, “What, are we out of gas?”
“The car is electric and no, we’re here,” answers Jacob as he puts his electric car in park.
Jacob looks at DK and says, “Look, I know we haven’t been in the best of places at times, but I want that to change. Your sister and I talked, and we think it’s a good idea if you and I work together.”
“We already work together,” replies DK as he looks out his passenger side car door window.
“Yeah, I know, but you and your team go on missions and then I get a report from you on how it all went. It kind of feels like a boss employee relationship,” says Jacob.
DK doesn’t reply to Jacob.
KNOCK! KNOCK!
An African American male Conqueror knocks on Jacob’s driver side car door window.
Jacob looks at the African American male Conqueror and the African American male Conqueror says, “They are inside.”
“Okay, we’ll be right in,” replies Jacob.
“Who is inside?” asks DK as he looks at Jacob.
“You’ll see,” answers Jacob and then Jacob exits his electric car.
DK doesn’t like the secrecy of this trip with Jacob, so he hesitates to exit from Jacob’s electric car.
“Come on!” shouts Jacob to DK as he stands a couple feet away from the front of his electric car.
DK exits from Jacob’s electric car, closes his passenger side car door, and asks, “Who is inside?”
“Let’s go in and find out,” answers Jacob and then Jacob walks towards the front of the building that he parked his car next to.
DK looks up at the building and he sees that Jacob brought him to a large old stone church.
“Isn’t this where you got married?” asks DK to Jacob.
“Yeah, good memory,” answers Jacob and then Jacob opens one of the large wooden church entrance doors.
Jacob and DK enter the church and there are several people waiting for them at the front of the church.
“Glad you could finally join us!” shouts Sal as he looks at DK and Jacob.
DK notices that Sal is joined by Brad and four other men that he hasn’t met before.
“Sorry we’re late,” replies Jacob.
DK sizes up the four other men and he notices that two men are in all-black suits. The two men are dressed in similar all-black suits and each of the men have an American flag pin on their chest suit jacket pocket. Both of the men in suits are well-built, but one is Caucasian, and the other is African American. DK notices that the two men in the all-black suits are each armed with high-powered automatic weapons and they look like they could be members of a government security team.
Jacob walks over to Sal and shakes his right hand and says hello to Brad who is standing next to Sal. DK notices that Sal is wearing a black suit that has vertical pin stripes on both his suit jacket and pants. DK thinks to himself, “All Sal needs is a fedora and a Tommy Gun, and he’d be the stereotypical old school gangster.
“I started to wonder if you were going to make it,” says Sal to Jacob.
DK looks at the other group of two men, and they are dressed in street clothes and they have visible tattoos on their arms and neck. One of the men is Caucasian and the other is Hispanic. The Caucasian man is muscular and wearing a white tank top and black jeans, and the Hispanic man is on the chubby side as he is wearing a button down short sleeved shirt and jeans.
Sal introduces Jacob to the two men in the black suits. The Caucasian man in the black suit is Davis and the African American man in the black suit is Winston.
“I thought we would be meeting Wayne today,” says Jacob to Davis and Winston.”
“He sent us today to see if it’s something that he should get involved with,” replies Davis to Jacob.
“Fair enough, still hoping to meet him,” replies Jacob.
Sal introduces Jacob to the two men in the street clothes. The muscular Caucasian man in the tank top is Dennison and the Hispanic man is Alberto.
“Nice to meet you Dennison, I hear that you are the one controlling Tampa Bay Prison now,” says Jacob.
“We took it over and it’s ours now,” replies Dennison.
Davis whispers something to Winston and Dennison takes it as a sign of disrespect and shouts to Winston and Davis, “What did you say?”
Davis turns towards Dennison and answers, “I said this is exactly why our leader wouldn’t come here.”
Dennison reaches behind his back, grabs a handgun that was tucked into his jeans, and points his handgun at Davis. Alberto sees Dennison grab his handgun and Alberto does the same and he points his handgun at Winston.
DK looks at the craziness that is happening with the people at the meeting and he thinks to himself, “What the fuck am I doing here?”
“Now gentlemen, we aren’t enemies. We set this meeting to make a partnership between our groups,” says Sal.
“I hope that dirty tank top is bulletproof,” says Davis to Dennison.
“I know your face isn’t bulletproof!” shouts Alberto as he points his handgun at Winston’s face.
“Enough with the bullshit, we are here to work together!” shouts Jacob.
DK looks at Brad and he sees that Brad is terrified and he wonders why Sal brought Brad to the meeting.
“Lower your guns and let’s talk like civilized people,” says Sal.
“I think we’ve seen enough to tell Wayne how this went,” says Davis to
