“That’s probably the best way of doing it,” says Phil as he looks at Jaws Junior’s house.
“I’m not wearing a vest though,” says Shaun.
“We’ll be right outside if shit happens,” I reply.
“You got this,” says Phil and then Phil runs towards Jon’s house.
I follow Phil and Shaun is left standing at the entrance of the cul-de-sac.
Shaun holsters his handgun and says to himself, “I knew I should have stayed at the Haven today.”
Shaun gathers himself and walks towards Jaws Junior’s house.
Phil and I walk around towards Deb and Jordan’s house as Shaun comes to the front door of Jaws Junior and Darlene’s house.
Shaun stands in front of Jaws Junior’s closed front door and Phil and I stand at the side of Jaws Junior’s house near his open garage.
KNOCK! KNOCK!
Shaun knocks on Jaws Junior’s front door.
Jaws Junior opens his front door and says, “Hey Shaun, how are you man?”
“Good, I saw your bike and was wondering how you were doing,” answers Shaun.
“You want to see her, she’s pretty awesome,” replies Jaws Junior as Jaws Junior steps out onto his front porch.
Jaws Junior shouts into his house, “D and D come out here with me!”
I look at Phil after hearing Jaws Junior call Dalton and Dean, D and D.
Dalton and Dean come out of Jaws Junior’s house and Shaun looks over Dalton and Dean.
“Who are you?” asks Dean to Shaun.
“I’m Shaun, who the fuck are you two?” answers Shaun.
“They are okay Shaun, they helped me get my bike back here,” says Jaws Junior and then Jaws Junior walks towards his open garage.
Phil and I move away from Jaws Junior’s open garage and remain hidden at the side of Jaws Junior’s house.
Shaun, Dalton, and Dean walk into Jaws Junior’s garage and Jaws Junior asks, “You like bikes Shaun?”
“Yeah, I do, but the wife would never let me get one,” answers Shaun.
“I hear ya,” replies Jaws Junior.
“Where is your wife now?” asks Dalton to Shaun with a creepy tone.
Shaun turns towards Dean and Dalton who are standing behind Shaun near Jaws Junior’s tool chest.
“She’s back home. Where are you two from?” replies Shaun as he looks at Dean and Dalton.
Dean looks at Dalton and Dalton answers, “Not too far from here.”
Dean rolls up his sleeves and Shaun sees that Dean has tattoos on his forearms.
Shaun starts to get a little nervous and wonders where Phil and I are.
“I had to change out the carburetor and a couple other things, before I could get her running again,” says Jaws Junior to Shaun.
Shaun looks at Jaws Junior’s motorcycle.
Dean slowly opens a drawer on Jaws Junior’s tool chest and grabs a large hammer.
Dalton and Dean are watching Shaun talk with Jaws Junior and they step closer to Shaun.
Phil and I hear Jaws Junior and Shaun talking and I start to wonder where Dalton and Dean are.
My adrenaline kicks in and I feel the need to check on Shaun inside Jaws Junior’s garage.
I rush around the side of Jaws Junior’s open garage and see Dean about to strike Shaun in the back of the head with a large hammer.
I point my shotgun at the back of Dalton and Dean and shout, “Drop it!”
Shaun turns around and sees the large hammer in Dean’s right hand.
Phil runs over to Dean and grabs the large hammer out of his right hand.
“What’s going on?” shouts Jaws Junior as he looks at me and Phil.
“I don’t know, but we’re going to find out,” I answer with an aggressive tone as I make eye contact with Dean.
CHAPTER 18
LET THEM IN
“You are making a mistake!” shouts Dalton, who is tied to a chair next to Dean who is also tied to a chair, as he sits in the living room of the abandoned house that is next to Jaws Junior’s house.
“Shut the fuck up!” shouts Phil.
“What’s going on Ryan? Why did you tie them up?” asks Jaws Junior to me as I’m talking with him outside of the abandoned house.
“Dalton and Dean might not be from the Haven and we are just getting answers,” I answer Jaws Junior.
“Where are they from then? What did they do?” asks Jaws Junior.
“I don’t know, that’s what we’re going to find out,” I answer Jaws Junior.
“Should I be worried about them? They were alone in my house with Darlene,” says Jaws Junior.
“Like I said we don’t know, but I’ll let you know what we find out. Go home and talk with Darlene,” I reply to Jaws Junior.
Jaws Junior gives me a worried look and I say, “We got this under control now. Go talk with your wife.”
I go into the abandoned house and I find Shaun and Phil standing in the living room near Dalton and Dean who are tied with their arms behind their backs as they sit in wooden dining room chairs.
“I don’t know who you think we are, but you got us all wrong,” pleads Dalton.
“Okay, then why were you going to hit me with the hammer?” asks Shaun.
Dalton doesn’t answer and Dean just stares at Shaun.
“Exactly, if you had nothing to hide then why attack me?” asks Shaun.
“Are you from the Haven?” asks Phil to Dalton and Dean.
Neither of them answer.
Brody calls for me over the radio and I ask Brody, “What did you find out?”
“They definitely are not from the Haven, and three Haven guards who were out on patrol were attacked and had their gear taken from them recently,” answers Brody over the radio.
Dean smiles after hearing what Brody said over the radio.
