“Yes, I have your final designs finished. As soon as you sign off on them, I can get a team started on it in the next couple of weeks.”
“That sounds great. I can’t wait to see your plans.” He gives me a tight smile. Silence looms between us and I shift on my heels, waiting for him to say more. Waiting for anything, but it doesn't come.
“Alright. I’ll email them to you and then I’ll soon be out of your way. Have a nice day, Mr. Morgan,” I bite out bitterly and march out of the room, needing to make my getaway from his aloofness.
I’m out in the hall, thoughts rushing through my mind like crazy. Large fingers wrap around my elbow and spin me around. “Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. What is going on with you?” Liam grumbles.
What’s going on with me? He has the nerve to ask me that.
“Everything is fine with me,” I mutter not able to look him in the eyes.
“I might not have dated a lot, but I know what fine means in woman talk.”
“Woman talk?” I huff.
“I see it all over your face; something is wrong.”
“As I said, everything is fine, Mr. Morgan.”
“See, there’s that Mr. Morgan again. Me and you are past formalities, Ms. Jenkins.”
“There’s other people around.” I glance over his shoulder to the people in the conference room. A couple have taken a keen interest in our display.
His lips twist as he narrows his eyes at me. “You’re coming with me.” He grabs my hand and tugs me forward, making me slip in my heels.
“What? Why?” I manage to wiggle out of his hold. His eyes darken.
“Because I’m your boss. Now. Come. With. Me.” He takes my hand and I pull out of his hold. “You either come with me or I’m going to put you over my shoulder and make you do so.”
Where the hell did this alpha dog attitude come from? “Fine. I’m coming.”
He takes my hand again, tightly, as we take the elevator up to his office. The elevator ride is a quick and quiet trip. When the doors slide open to Liam's floor, Liam practically drags me across the hall. Mary starts to say something to us, but Liam cuts her a look, telling her to hold his calls.
He closes the door and locks it behind him. His eyes blaze into mine as he undoes his tie, instantly heating my skin. “Now, what seems to be the problem, Ms. Jenkins?”
“Nothing.” I flat out lie and the carnal look in his eyes gets hotter.
“Nothing?” He shakes his head and moves to stand right in front of me. He grabs my right wrist and pins it behind my back. “Still? You seem to be very mad with me considering last night I was making you scream my name using my tongue.”
“What are you doing?” I breathe, as he pins my other wrist behind my back. Using his silk tie, he wraps my wrists together, all while his eyes don’t leave mine. I can feel his obvious erection stab into my groin. I’m very turned on by whatever is going on here, everything from this morning wiped away.
“Something is up with you and I plan to help you forget,” he says nipping at the corner of my chin with his teeth.
“Doesn't this go against your whole routine?”
“Oh, sweet, Red.” His lips capture mine in a deep, powerful kiss. He groans down my throat, as his hands cup my ass. "I think you've already thrown everything off my normal routine. Is that what is bothering you?”
“Just your note…” I admit, but I feel silly doing so now as his hot breath tickles the side of my neck, both of us turned on, and him ready to lay me down on his desk.
“My note?” He pulls back. “What note?” He hums as his mouth sucks on the side of my neck again.
Damn him and his distracting techniques, but seriously, what note?
“Yeah, your note,” I mumble and manage to push him back with my chest, though his hands are still greedily grabbing my ass. “It started with last night was fun.”
A grin spreads across his face looking bemused, and if it wasn’t for the pleasurable ache between my legs, and my hands being tied up, I’d pummel him. “I'm sorry about that." His lips descend back to the side of my neck, sucking gently, hitting the spot above my collarbone, that makes me so wet. "There was an emergency. It was four a.m. and I don't even remember what I wrote. I just wanted to leave something, and I knew a text would wake you."
"It just brought back those familiar feelings of our first night together. When you vanished on me. I felt like a one and done.”
His eyes close and he pushes his forehead to mine. “Red, that’s not what I wanted to do. I’m sorry.” His eyes open back up and the dark lustful gaze remains. “However, it’s true, last night was very fun,” he says cheekily and nips on my ear lobe.
“I even texted you and…” Now I’m going too much into it. He’s a busy man, Holls. Put most of his life on hold, cut his hours at work so he can spend more time with Matty…and with me.
“It’s been a hectic morning. I haven’t had a chance to look at my cell. The second I had a break I came to see you.”
“But you felt so cold back there.”
He whisks a hair behind my ear. "I was trying to keep myself collected around everyone. When I stepped into that room and saw you, all I wanted to do was lift you on the new conference table, push your skirt up around your hips." He grabs
