While the name calling was unsettling, it didn’t worry me anywhere near as much as the leering looks I was receiving from some of the guys. I had seen several, as the day had passed, checking me out from head to toe, with a lustful look in their eyes that made me feel physically sick and completely terrified. The looks reminded me far too much of the gleam I would always see in The Shadow’s eyes when he came to touch me, and hurt me in the way I spent every day trying hard not to remember.
I didn’t really understand why the boys were looking at me like that though. I had made it clear to everyone who asked that, yes, I was with all four of the guys I lived with. Shouldn’t that put them off? Shouldn’t they realise I was off limits? That I was taken?
“Hey.” A deep male voice came from my right, as I opened my locker and began hurriedly switching out my books for my gym stuff.
Not wanting to seem rude, I glanced around and found a guy about a half foot taller than me, grinning widely. He had reddish brown floppy hair that hung too long over his ears, and dark eyes that instantly reminded me of The Shadow and sent a shiver down my spine. Compared to my guys, he wasn’t big; kind of scrawny and skinny in body, and way shorter than any of them, but he was still a hell of a lot bigger than me. Although, let’s be honest, who wasn’t? Anyone who saw my barely five foot, skinny frame from the back would easily mistake me for a child. I was just grateful I had a generous pair of boobs, to cement the fact I was really a seventeen year old woman, from the front at least.
“Hi.” I returned flatly, trying not to let my disgust of the fact he reminded me of my torturer leak into my words too much.
“You’re new right?” He asked as I returned to the task at hand, trying hard to encourage him to just get lost.
“Yeah.” I didn't even look back around to where I knew he was now leaning against the lockers, studying me. I could still feel his eyes moving over me though, and it made my skin crawl. Why the hell didn’t I just wait for the guys?
“Cool. I’m Kurtis. You’re Olivia?” He asked, not seeming to get the hint I really didn’t want to talk.
“Yep.” Finally I had all of my gym stuff in my backpack, and my books loaded into my locker. I threw the bag on my back with one strap, then slammed my locker shut, ready to bolt back to wait outside the class I just left for the guys, and get away from this creep, but he had other ideas.
“Hold up!” He laughed as he grabbed my forearm to halt me. He didn’t grab hard, but just the contact was enough to have adrenaline coursing through me. I ripped my arm violently from his grip, and tried hard to keep on breathing through the panic.
“Fuck off Kurtis.” The voice came from behind me, as I felt a body close to my back. The voice wasn’t one of my guys, but I recognised it and hoped he would help me out of this situation. “You ok, Sugar?” Charlie appeared before me as he asked, bending enough for his eyes to meet mine, and shoving Kurtis back as he moved into my space, thankfully without touching me.
“I….I just need to find the guys.” I replied, trying hard to gain back my calm before I fell apart in front of everyone.
“Was he bothering you?” Charlie asked, as he glared round momentarily to where Kurtis stood looking pissed and watching us.
“No. He….I just don’t like being touched.” I whimpered. Great job pulling it together Livy!
“Why don’t you butt out, dickhead? Livy and I were just talking.” Kurtis all but growled.
“You want me to go Olivia?” Charlie asked. He was still bent down before me, so his eyes met mine, and he seemed to genuinely care if I was alright. Knowing he was the guys friend, the guy whose party we had attended weeks before, I decided he was the safer option.
“No,” I squeaked. He nodded, then turned back to Kurtis, hiding me with his body in the process. Kurtis, clearly not easily deterred, looked around him to me and smiled.
“I’m having a party at my place on Saturday. I just wanted to know if you wanted to come? Should be fun.”
“Back the fuck off while you still can. She’s not interested in your lame ass party, or you. I see you bothering her again, and this won’t end so easily.” Charlie threatened, nothing but menace in his voice. It shocked the Hell out of me. I had only met him once at the party, but he had seemed so light and fun at the time. I hadn’t imagined him holding such fire.
“Easy dude. I was just trying to be friendly.” Kurtis said, with his hands raised before him in surrender. He threw me one more smirk, then turned and strutted off like he owned the place.
“Are you ok? That guy is such an asshole!” Charlie was before me again, bent low enough for his face to be level with mine, and studying me with concern.
“I…..yes. Thankyou for helping me. He was being kind of an ass.” I agreed, my panic slowly receding.
“No problem. Cole and Matt are my buds. I told them I’d look out for you.” He explained with a shrug.
“I should have w-waited for them. I just….I got
