hand, I can heal life, but I could be taking one with others.

"Hmm... before you make any drastic decision, I want you to understand that by giving up these powers, you will never be safe and will bring danger and risks to your own life and Leo's." Ellice indicates.

"How is that even relevant? Leo already is a powerful Alpha." I asked impatiently.

"Yes, he is, but without you, he won't be for long."I was confused and became uneasy by what she was saying.

"Let me simplify." She said, looking at my worried face. "You'll be a normal human. If something were to happen to you, Leo would start becoming weaker and weaker. He won't be able to manage his pack any longer after your death. Either he goes feral, and he'll die soon after."

"No," I gasped. A spark of fear flickered in my heart. It was the most honest explanation she could ever give.

"As his mate, your lifeline is linked with him. You're powerful together, your bond is stronger when you are together, and it will only grow to the finest." The sister on the right mentioned, and it inspired me. There was a gleam of hope in their eyes.

"Aries, your powers are to extirpate the evil, and I've faith in you that you'll be fair. Now, do you still not want these powers?"I thought that I could answer this question quickly, but there were still doubts lingering in my mind.

"What happens if I can't control them and accidentally hurt or kill someone innocent." The hurtful words clenched my heart with guilt. Ken and Judin might have deserved it to some extent, but the others who were in the club didn't deserve to die.

"You'll have to learn how to control them, and practice makes perfect."I smiled at that. Their faces showed satisfaction in my agreement of keeping the powers.

"That's another reason why Aries should keep her powers," Ellenis said.

"Simon is coming for you, Aries. He wants you." Ellice mentioned and stressed the last words. My eyebrows raised.

"Who's Simon?" I asked.

SIMON

Simon, born as a demon, and described as a monster,

he carried a malevolent spirit for many many centuries.

He was one of the much more powerful demons in the history of the supernaturals.

His rueful remembrances of the most merciless things he had done still echoes in the centenarian hearts of the supernaturals.

You'd think my uncle and aunt were hateful for what they did to me. Simon's demon tendency to do the beautiful fairies and mermaids was soul-stirring. Werewolves were tamed to be pets and Vampires to be the savage terminators. Witches were hunted and executed. And humans? Humans were like bugs—to be stepped on and stomped.

Taking precious life was a demon's work of art. The only entity that mattered to him was his own. He trusted no one, he believed in no one, he loved no one, and he was heartless and callous, a ruthless, cold-blooded murderer.

He didn't even spare his siblings' lives or his own birth parents for that matter. Of course, some said that these were just rumors. But how can we believe the verities of a devil without proof?

Simon had devoted himself to reap the powers from those who behold the exquisite skills. He would distraint and dry their ethereal magic out of their very soul, even if he had to dig them out of their graves.

Diamonds nor gold, nothing enticed him. His merciless heart had set on one thing and one thing only—Eternal Powers. He desired to become THE GOD and rule the Universe, from the heavens to the earth.

But I believe, that—

'Thy soul lives with thousands of sins. Thy end of time begins.'

Others awaited Simon's death impatiently. It was going to happen.

When?

How?

Who knew?

It was just a matter of time, and time does not wait for anyone.

CHAPTER 17

"Skye, I need to go see her, want to make sure if she is okay?" I told Leon, when I got on his back, ready to leave the forest.

'Sure,' Leon replied, his voice in my head felt pleasing, then he began to run. I had my grip tight on his fur and gave it a hard tug every time he jumped or leaped over fallen branches or rocks. I suspected if I was pulling his hair too roughly.

'No, you're not.' He confirmed. And I run my fingers in his fur, bending down. I wrapped my arms around his neck to rest myself on him and closed my eyes.

When we arrived, there were two police cars parked outside the house. Leo suggested to stay and wait in the woods since the cops were inside the house.

He began to wear the clothes that I was holding for him.

While I focused my attention on the house, I tried to get a glimpse inside. I was getting too curious to know what was going on in there, worried for Skye.

Leo came next to me, and then closed his eyes, the three lines creased on his forehead, showing that he was trying to concentrate on something. Then suddenly, I began to hear voices in my head. Leo had a mind link with me.

A man talking, and then there was a woman crying—it was Skye, it was her cry.

The entire time Skye cried, making me realize that was more my fault. I felt tears filling my own eyes. I stood up to rush to her, and I wanted to console her. I wanted to apologize to her. When I felt a hand wrap around my wrist before he pulled me back down, I looked at him, and he was shaking his head, telling me not to go.

"Please, Leo, let me go." I twisted my hand in his grip, but his hold got more muscular. Tears rolled down, in pain throbbing in my wrist and my heart.

'Why won't he let me go? Why was he stopping me?'

"Aries, s-she was there too," Skye spoke, informing the cops. And I froze hearing Skye say my name.

"I'm sorry, but as I said, everyone in that club is... dead." One of the cops
