looked drained. I couldn’t remember ever seeing her this tired. She slumped into the dining chair and exhaled.

“Tea smells lovely.”

Soph sat next to her and nodded. “We got there in the end thanks to Av.” She flashed a smile my way and I laughed as I placed down the plates of spaghetti Bolognese. My mum smiled up at me. This was her favourite.

“So how was work today?” She sighed.

“We need another PA to be perfectly honest. I can’t keep going the way I am. I'll end up having a stroke.” She smiled to herself as she ate her tea and I pushed mine around the plate taking small bites when I could.

“Have you told your boss Lena?” Soph’s eyes looked so sad.

“He hasn’t been in for the last week. I don’t have a clue where he’s gone.” I rolled my eyes. Fucking prick.

“Well make sure you tell him or I’ll come in and tell him.” She laughed a sincere laugh that warmed me through and I winked at her.

The rest of dinner went like this she spoke about what she had on at work and what we were up to tonight and I had informed her we were popping out for a few hours but we should all be back by 12 latest. She didn’t sound at all pleased that I’d be spending another night out. I knew she was worried and I couldn’t help but wonder if that’s the reason she looked so tired. Was she worried about me? I glanced down at the time on my phone and finished the last of the washing up. It was half 7. Both the girls were already getting ready to go and had been for the last half an hour. I climbed up my stairs and opened the door to them.

“Av’s Sprung…”

“Dog he got her…” Soph finished her sentence in a terrible singing voice and I laughed.

“Shut up you’ll have the neighbours complaining.” Nance was grinning and I shook my head. “But honestly it’s not what you think.”

“So who is the mysterious man? If it’s not him?” Soph flicked her eyebrows up and down, I giggled and shook my head.

“There isn’t one!” I exclaimed and watched as they both shrugged. They turned the old slow jam RNB jams up and I rolled my eyes. “Please keep it down.” They giggled and continued to get ready. The music that was playing was all old school anthems that we grew up listening to. Nancy grinned as she stood and started to dance to 212. I laughed and rolled my eyes as Soph joined in.

“We’ll never be ready for 8 if you keep dancing like this!” They both rolled their eyes and Soph scrunched her wild hair.

“All done I’ve literally got to put my face on.”

“Which is gonna take you 3 hours?” Nance added the final blow to her ego and I giggled.

“Burn.” I added. Nance stuck out her tongue and glanced at me in the mirror.

“So who are we actually facing tonight?” I shrugged at her question as I didn't really know. They both frowned as I just placed my hair behind my ear.

“How’d you look like an angel when all you’ve done is put your wild hair behind your ear?” I shook my head at Soph’s comment and looked through my wardrobe.

“You’ll be meeting Chloe.” Soph raised her brow.

“Fuck off? Blonde big tits Chloe? From school?” I nodded.

“That’s the one.” I watched as she rolled her eyes with disappointment. “And Conway.” Nancy’s eyes lit up and I chuckled. The way she danced around my bedroom was so effortless after I’d revealed who we were meeting. I placed on a little bit of makeup and walked over towards my wardrobe.

“Do you know if we’re going out?” I wasn’t sure but I knew how quickly plans changed with them. Soph rested her hand on top of my shoulder and squeezed before she pointed at a jumpsuit they’d brought me last year for my birthday. It was bodycon, emerald in colour and wide legged. I smiled at her.

“I’ve always loved you in that.” A feeling of warmth spread through me and I reached to hug her. She didn’t say anything she simply wrapped her arms around me too and squeezed.

The sound of a horn from outside made us all jump. My stomach was in knots.

“Please behave in this car. I promise I’ll explain but later?” I watched as they nodded and  smiled at me. Soph winked. I grabbed my bag and made my way out the front of my house.

“Who the fuck is that?” Soph dug me in the ribs and as I turned around My breathing stopped. He was all relaxed and sexy and sat in his black Audi A5. My heart constricted in my chest.

“Just please behave ” I begged.

“Girl, I think your new job pays well.” Nancy teased. Great, she thinks I’m a prostitute. I walked around to the passenger side and climbed in slowly. I watched as his eyes followed my legs and then hit my face. His eyes were different. There was red around the outside of them.

“Change of plan? Alfie’s is later? You still alright to come?” His tone was smooth, that dark sexy voice and I froze.

“She’ll be fine to come.” Soph’s tone was low and I coughed to try and cover what she was saying. He ran his eyes over my face and smirked, making all the hairs on my arms stand to his attention. Fuck I want him. The girls giggled in the back of the car. His hand reached over the center console, his hand found my leg, he ran it up towards my crotch and my eyes widened.

“I bet she is.” He muttered. They didn’t hear but I did. I wanted to reach to hold his hand but before I could he squeezed my inner thigh and released it. His smirk was wide and the lump in my throat was growing. The girls were chatting in the back and I looked out of his
