How to use Remote desktop on Windows 10

The Remote Desktop can be used on your Android, Windows or iOS devices to connect to your Windows 10 computer from a very far distance.

Set up the computer that you plan to connect to so that it will allow remote connections. To do this, use the step below;

▪         Once you have confirmed that your PC is Windows 10 Pro, click Start , tap Settings , click on System, tap Remote Desktop , and activate (by turning on) the “Enable Remote Desktop .”

Connect to the set up PC with Remote Desktop:

▪         On your local Windows 10 PC:  From the search box on your taskbar, enter Remote Desktop Connection , and then choose Remote Desktop Connection . In Remote Desktop Connection, fill in the name of the computer that you plan to connect to (you have been told to note the name of the PC in the previous step), and then tap Connect.

▪         On your Windows, iOS or Android device: Launch the Remote Desktop app (you can download the app for free on Mac App Store, Google Play and Microsoft Store), and then add the name of the computer that you wish to connect to (available for free from Microsoft Store, Google Play, and the Mac App Store), and add the name of the PC that you want to connect to (you have been told to note the name of the PC in the previous step). Use your PC as a mobile hotspot

Turn your Windows 10 computer into a secured mobile hotspot by sharing the PC’s internet connection with some other devices over Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi, cellular data connection or Ethernet can be shared from your computer to another device or computer. If your computer has a cellular data connection and you share it, the connection will be using data from your cellular data plan.

Click on the Start  button, then tap Settings , click on Network & Internet and choose Mobile hotspot .

For the Share my Internet connection from , select the Internet connection that you wish to share.

Click Edit , fill in a new name for the network and choose a password, and then click on Save.

Turn on the “Share my Internet connection with other devices .”

To establish connection on the other device, scroll to the Wi-Fi settings on that particular device, locate the name of your network, click on it, input the password, and then connect.

Cellular settings for Windows10

Some Windows 10 devices contain an eSIM or a SIM card that can allow you to connect to a cellular network. This will allow you to go online in more than one place with a cellular signal.

If your Windows 10 device does not have an eSIM or a SIM card, connection to a cellular network can still be established by plugging in an external cellular gadget (a modem or mobile broadband device). Either way, you need to have a sufficient data plan to connect and enjoy the web.

What has changed in File Explorer

Just as it happens with every new thing, the File Explorer in Windows 10 has been much better compared to what was obtainable in the earliest versions of Windows. To check what the File Explorer has got to offer you in Windows 10, simply click on the icon of the File Explorer from the taskbar or the Start menu, or you can alternatively click on the Windows logo key + E on your keyboard.

Here are the few things that have changed in Windows 10;

▪          You can now see OneDrive as part of the File Explorer.

▪         When you open File Explorer, you will see Quick access. The folder you frequent quite often and your recently used files will be listed under Quick access, so the trouble of digging through a series of files and folder to find them is not there again. You can also pin your favorite folders and files to the Quick access for easy and fast reference.

▪         In addition, you can now use apps to share your photos and files right from the File Explorer. Choose the files that you wish to share, scroll to the Share  tab, click on the Share  button, and then select an app.

If you have been using Windows 7 before switching to Windows 10, here are few more differences you will notice;

▪         My Computer is now referred to as This PC, and you won’t see it by default on
