growl.

“Don’t worry, brother. We’ll find them,” Stoney states, his ol’ lady cradled in the crook of his arm. I’m surprised to see her here after what she went through. Then again you couldn’t keep her away. She’d have found a way to get up here if she needed to. Plus, Prez doesn’t like to have her out of his sights. Not after everything. Nearly losing someone will do that to a person.

I give Stoney a quick nod, turning my attention to Raul. “He okay?” I ask wanting to make sure he wasn’t wheezing or anything. The doctor cleared him, saying he was good but to bring him back downstairs if he starts acting out of normal.

“Yeah he’s okay, I was able to get him to eat some num-nums I brought with me. They were in the spare diaper bag Raven keeps at our place in case she forgot to pack something,” Raul says, pointing to the bag at his feet.

I give him a sharp nod. “Good. I’m gonna get back to check on Mark and see if I can get an update on Raven.”

“She’ll be okay,” Victoria says stepping forward.

“Yeah, when she makes it through this, she’ll be kicking everyone’s ass demanding to get her hands on the person responsible for y’alls house as well,” Tracker states, pulling his ol’ lady into his front.

“I’m coming with you,” Pitch Black announces leaving no room for rebuttal. Not that I would argue. It’s his sister and his nephew on the other side of the door.

Without responding to him, I head for the locked doors and push the button. Soon as it opens, I step through with my brother-in-law right behind me.

I make my way over to the nurses’ station.

“Can I help you?” one of the nurses asks, glancing between Pitch Black and myself with a seductive smile in place. “I’m Lisa.”

“Don’t care who the fuck you are. I wanna know how my wife is doing,” I snap.

Lisa jumps at the sharp tone of my voice. “Who is your wife?” she asks cautiously.

“Raven Morgan. She just had a baby, they took her to OR and my son is in the nursery.” Holding up the bracelet I show it to her.

She furrows her brow and looks at the bracelet and then calls another nurse over. “Yevette.”

What the fuck?

“Doctor Alverez is just about done and will be out to speak with you momentarily. But if you will, tell me who put that bracelet on your wrist.” Something about the way Yevette says this causes not just me but Pitch Black, as well, to stiffen.

“I don’t know, an older nurse. Alverez asked my wife to let one of the nurses hold the baby and it was her. She held him while they rushed her out of the room. I followed her to the nursery where I watched her put the bracelet on my son then she gave me one,” I state, placing both hands on the countertop separating us from the nurses.

“Sir, not to alarm you, but we need to call the police, I don’t know who or how this has happened, but no one should have been able to get into the nursery other than myself, Lisa, and two other nurses,” Yevette says already picking up the phone to place the call.

My vision blurs and rage starts to take hold.

“You telling me, my nephew isn’t in the nursery?” Pitch Black snarls.

“I’m sorry, sir, but there’re no newborns in there as of yet. The babies that are in there were from yesterday and throughout the night,” Lisa says, sympathy lining her face.

Motherfucker.

Then it hits me. What if the person responsible for the explosion at our house is the one responsible for taking my son?

Chapter Five

Blaze

As the nurses call the police, I sent Pitch Black back out to the waiting room to grab my Prez, VP, and Nerd.

“What’s going on?” Stoney asks, his face a mixture of confusion.

“Someone’s dubbed the hospital and has taken off with my son,” I snarl.

“Fuck. How the hell did that shit happen?” His features move from confused to furious in a matter of a split second.

“Don’t know, Prez. They’re callin’ it in.” I nod to the woman behind us.

“I’m on it. I’ll get back to the clubhouse and see if I can’t hack into their system and find out who took your kid,” Nerd growls, his lip curling at the corner in disgust.

“Thanks, brother,” I mutter, appreciating anything that he can find.

“Take Brake with you,” Pitch Black suggests. “He might be able to help in some way.”

Nodding, Nerd takes off for the doors to the lobby.

“What in the world is going on out here?” Spinning on my heel I find Alverez coming in our direction.

“How is she?” I ask needing to know at least one thing was looking in the right direction rather than collapsing around me.

“She’ll be just fine. Though I need to find out how she ended up with fentanyl and carfentanil in her system which was causing her heart rate to drop. If we hadn’t reacted in the time we did, we could have lost her to an overdose. I’ve given her Narcan to reverse the side effects,” Alverez states.

“How the fuck did she get that shit in her?” Pitch Black demands.

“I honestly don’t know. But I know she doesn’t do drugs of any kind and I want to know myself how this has come about. Now what’s going on here?”

“Mark’s gone,” I say.

“What?” he yells, his face turning bright red.

“I’m sorry, Doctor Alverez, we have security on its way up. The hospital has issued a locked down and the police are on the way,” Yevette states, putting the phone down.

“Blaze, you should get Raul back here with Matthew,” Tracker suggests, furrowing his brow. With what happened to his boy this must be gutting him.

“I agree with Tracker. We’ll put you all in the room with Raven. She’s still asleep but you know when she wakes up, she’ll be demanding answers,” Alverez says with
