“Fuck,” Fuse says from next to me. “Do we have an ETA on when they’ll be here?”
“Nope, just know they’re on the way.”
“Fuse, do we have any new information on this fuckwad?” Tyres asks.
“Yeah, VP, and none of you are gonna like what that news is,” Fuse mutters as he eyes each of us.
“What is it?” I bark.
“Miles Granger isn’t just a crime boss who thinks his shit doesn’t stink and likes to get his hands bloody when people get in his way, he’s also the cousin of the VP to the Toxic Warriors national charter.” The room explodes in outrage at this bomb Fuse just dropped.
“Motherfucker.” I snarl. “If fuckwad knows where Nora is, he’s going to his cousin to gain assistance in this.”
“Don’t worry, Breaker, nothing’s going to happen to Nora. I’m calling for a lock down. I want all the ol’ ladies within the walls of the clubhouse. I’m not taking any chances. No fuckin’ way am I about to let anything happen to one of the women. My ol’ lady means too much to me for some bullshit to touch her. Both her and Nora have been through enough and don’t need this on them. Fuse, you see if you can’t find Miles Granger’s exact whereabouts. Tyres, you reach out to Viking or Iceman and see if we can’t get a meet with them,” Chains orders then looks directly at me with a fire in in his eyes that I’ve only seen when he’s ready to draw blood. “No matter what, brother, we’re gonna keep Nora safe, but you gotta keep a rein on that temper of yours. Got me?”
“Yeah, I got you,” I mutter, my hands clenched into fists and my nostrils flaring as I try to keep that said hold on it. At least for now. However, the moment I have my hands on Miles his ass is fuckin’ mine.
Chapter Ten
Nora
Groaning to myself I hover over the toilet in Breaker’s room praying he doesn’t come back while I’m like this.
I don’t even want to think about how embarrassing it would be. It’s bad enough I passed the hell out on him last night immediately after he untied me and rolled to his back with me on his chest. However, in my defense, I was completely spent from everything he’d done to my body. Not that I’m complaining because I loved every single minute of, as he put it, my punishment.
Shoot, if that’s what I have to look forward to I might have to go upset him more often. Granted it would have been even better if he hadn’t withheld my orgasms from me.
“Ma tendre.” I inwardly groan to myself for not closing the bathroom door when I hear Breaker calling out as he enters the room. “Fuck, Nora, you okay, mon chou?” he asks as he makes it to my side and brushes the loose strands of hair that had fallen from my messy bun.
“Ugh, I’m okay, Orin. I think I might have a stomach bug or something. You probably shouldn’t be this close to me. I don’t want you to get sick,” I mutter right as another wave of nausea hits and I puke.
“Spitfire, I’m putting a call into the doc and have him come in and check you out,” Breaker suggests soothingly, though a hint of worry fills his voice.
“No, there’s no need to do that. I just need to lay back down for a bit and I’ll be okay,” I protest once the need to vomit again subsides.
“You can lay down, mon amour, but I’m still calling him. I don’t like seeing you like this and I want to know for sure what the fuck’s going on,” he declares as he scoops me up off the floor and plants me on the counter.
Reaching into the cabinet underneath, he grabs a washcloth, wets it, and proceeds to clean me up.
“I can do that,” I say weakly as I try to grab the thing.
“I’m sure you could, Spitfire. Doesn’t mean I’m not going to do it for you,” he growls as he swats my hand away from taking the washcloth from him.
“Are you going to brush my teeth too?” I demand.
“Nope, I’ll let you do that, but I’m staying right here with you while you do it,” he grins.
“Fine.” In all honesty, I didn’t think I had the strength to stand up by myself right now long enough to brush my teeth anyway.
Helping me off the counter, Breaker stands directly behind me with one arm wrapped around my waist. God knows I love this man. Even if I haven’t said the words out loud. Neither of us have. But that doesn’t mean I don’t see it in his eyes. I know he loves me just as much as I do him without the words. It’s one of the many things I’ve learn about him and myself over the last month. Words aren’t always needed between the two of us.
Finishing up with my teeth, I put my toothbrush back in the holder. Breaker immediately scoops me into his arms and strolls into the bedroom where he then lays me in the middle of the bed. Once there he pulls the covers back over my body and sits next to me. “Rest, ma tendre, I’m gonna put a call into the doc see if he can’t get here,” he murmurs, pressing a kiss to my forehead.
“Ugh, don’t kiss me. You don’t need to get sick along with me,” I grumble, weakly.
“Spitfire, if I were gonna get it, whatever you have, I’ve already been exposed to it considering I’ve had my mouth on every inch of your body,” he chuckles just as there’s a knock at the door.
“Come in,” he calls out, not leaving my side.
The door opens and Ela comes in carrying a tray
