“Deo. Oh, God. Deo,” she cried.
Her voice brought on his orgasm as he slammed into her one more time as her muscles pulsed again around him. He spilled into her as he thrust one last time.
As his dick slowly stopped pulsing within her, he reached for her and held her, rolling over so she was on top again.
They lay there for a few minutes. His heart beating to match the rhythm of hers.
“Wow,” she said, after her breathing returned to normal.
He stroked her hair. “Are you okay?” he asked.
Her cheek slid across his chest as she gave a slow nod. “I think so.”
Deo paused a moment and wondered if he’d hurt her and she wasn’t being honest. This wasn’t going well. He thought tasting her would be enough, and now, well he wasn’t sure he was strong enough to fight fate’s plan.
“Are you sure?”
She lifted her head, resting a chin on his chest. “Yes. I mean. Wow, that was intense, but good Lord, yes. I am fine. I may not be walking anywhere for awhile, mind you.”
A smile crossed her lips.
“I am resisting instinct by not claiming you mate. You are infuriating and also beyond enticing. I can’t deny you your wishes.”
An idea came to him as he said those last words. How could he gain her full trust, her permission, and her love? Perhaps by combining her love of science for her curiosity of his world. Perhaps she could accomplish everything she needed to fully give herself to him and their fated life.
“Aisha,” he said, pushing back a stray hair crossing her forehead.
“Hmm?” she answered, her eyes closing.
“What if I showed you my lab on the ship?”
Her eyes opened, and he watched as her expression changed from sleepy contentment to curiosity.
“Your lab?” she asked.
He nodded and rolled them over to their sides. Pulling out as she protested, he laughed.
“I can’t think with you naked, woman. You’ve asked for me to prove myself and I want to. So, what do you say about seeing my ship and the lab that would be at your disposal?”
Deo stood up. “You will need clothing, something somewhat warm.”
Pushing herself up, she rolled her eyes. “Indulge me. Why?”
“Just meet me out back.”
He turned to head downstairs and stopped.
“Have you flown before?”
Her answer was guarded. “Yes.”
“Should I assume it was in some kind of mechanical device? A ship of some sort?” he asked.
“Where is this going, Deo?”
“I wanted your permission to fly you to the ship.” He watched her eyes grow wider in realization.
“Like as a dragon?” she asked.
His dragon started to surface, he scratched at his forearms as his dragon damn near pushed his way out. Anything to stretch their wings.
“Yes. As a dragon.”
Aisha stood up and closed the gap between them, touching the skin he scratched.
“Is this, well, this isn’t human skin. Your dragon?”
Deo looked down. He’d never had to restrain himself like this before so he’d never noticed just how his dragon appeared at different times within the shift.
The blue of his scales covered his arms. Things one never thought about.
“Yes. This is my dragon skin. I have many forms before I fully shift.”
She smiled. “Fascinating from a science standpoint. Nothing about you makes sense.” She snorted. “Well, not that shifters make sense at all. It’s magic, I suppose, not physics.”
Science, this was a language he preferred as well, but there was little to explain when it came to his dragon form. “Yes. It is magic, not physics, unfortunately. The goddess blessed those who she deemed worthy of being a warrior before we were born. We are the chosen. I assume other shifters are this way as well?”
Aisha shrugged. “There isn’t really any research. I mean, maybe there is, but I don’t think it is done with common knowledge. Just like witches and fae. I guess that’s why I’m always studying demonology. I think there is a tie between all of us. What we are comes from ancient magics mixed into the human race. I think.”
This fascinated him, that her people did not understand who they were or where they came from. He never had to wonder about his origins. He knew, as did his father before him.
“I have heard that demons have been the source of many things throughout the centuries. It also proves the other realms and worlds could be responsible for all that is possible here on Earth. But I do not question my existence as you do. I know my place. Perhaps you have not found yours, yet?”
He liked the way she studied his dragon, the way his dragon calmed for a moment at the touch of their mate.
She stroked the skin. “It’s just fascinating. I know sometimes I have to accept that there aren’t always answers. But I’m not there. I believe cancer can be cured like so many other diseases. I believe there is a reason why I am who I am. I still believe that maybe supernatural blood is the cure for human suffering and I’m not ready to let that go. I think this has always been my purpose.”
Deo wanted to hold her and make all her worries disappear, but he had a feeling that her mission, her convictions were what made Aisha his Aisha.
“I understand. I want to help you find your answers. Let me fly you to my lab?”
She pursed her lips for a moment before releasing his arm.
“So what you are saying is I get to ride you?”
Deo nodded. This was logical, yes.
Her face reddened as her body shook before a loud burst of laughter came out.
“Oh my. You are so deadpan serious and all I can think of is how, I mean, well when we, in the bedroom and I… Well, I mean, I was on top. And now, you say I get to ride your dragon. My mind is not at all being mature about this.”
Deo’s own eyes widened at what she was referring to and even he had a hard time not laughing. He knew good and well what it was like
