The idea that she thought that about his dragon was rather humorous and physically not possible. She’d soon see. At least laughter was much easier than skepticism and fear. It was easier than the frustrations of not claiming her.
“Then it is agreed. You will allow me to take you to my ship.” He headed for the backyard, the only place he could think to be inconspicuous. Most people would notice a large dragon in the front yard he supposed.
He paused again, just outside the door. “Aisha?“
She looked up from a drawer she’d grabbed a shirt from.
“It would be my pleasure to let you ride me in any form, mate.” He winked as her mouth fell open.
“Meet me outside,” he called back.
That was funny, he thought to himself. Deo was proud of himself. This human humor thing was becoming more and more natural.
Outside he waited. His dragon’s tail thwacking against the spotty grass yard. They hated to wait, and his dragon was growing impatient. Deo scolded the damn beast that this wasn’t the time for them to show off. Only, his dragon scoffed at that idea. Of course he did.
A bird landed a few feet away and his dragon’s head snapped up. Things just got interesting. Deo didn’t care that he was part of the animal, when instinct took control things never went as planned. The dragon snuck up on the bird, slowly crawling on his belly.
Well, at least it kept him from getting impatient and trying to stir up trouble with the neighbor’s dog.
He crawled forward, slower as he got on the tail feathers of the bird. Once they were right behind the oblivious creature, he blew air out of his snout and scared the tiny thing. His dragon was just about ready to take off after it, when it caught the scent of Aisha and heard a feminine sigh.
“I wanted to tell you how impressed I was at the dragon, because well it’s obviously you, Deo but really?”
The dragon turned around and sat on his haunches, his tongue lolling out of the side of his mouth. Deo wanted to roll his eyes at the pathetic display, but deep down he too just wanted to be near their mate.
“I really thought you’d be more scary,” Aisha said.
His dragon smiled.
“Oh. Never mind. I. Yeah. Don’t do that.”
His dragon stood on all fours and moved closer to her. Communication would be much easier if they were mated. Which obviously wasn’t going to happen this time around.
“How do we do this? Me, getting on?” she asked.
Deo had his dragon lower himself and put a leg out, hoping she’d use that to boost her up.
Aisha tilted her head and then shrugged. Walking forward, she put a foot on his arm and scrambled up his side.
His dragon twisted around, trying to see that she was safe.
“Okay. Giddy up?”
His dragon’s chest rumbled with laughter as he took off into the sky.

Well, there was no time like the present to get an MRI.
Her hair was windblown, and this was a ship. All right. This was real. Probably. Deo had offered her the chance to see a lab with more technology than she could imagine, and yet she hadn’t actually believed him. Because you know. Aliens.
Right. Maybe she should have started drinking before she got on the dragon. Ha. She laughed at the whole idea. Like she needed to drink. She’d just ridden on a dragon.
What was a bigger deal? Dragon or ship? Dragon or ship? Tough choices. Should she call her therapist? No. Two outcomes and neither sounded good. Either the therapist would believe her and call this in to the government, or the more likely option is she would call her nuts and push more pills and maybe a new stylish straight jacket.
“I’m on a spaceship? Like an actual ship that goes up there?” She pointed up. Deo eyed her kind of funny. Okay, maybe she was acting a little strange. He had told her the truth. Only, until this moment she’d thought he was using metaphors or something. I mean, spaceship. Sure. Okay. And alien. And a dragon.
But one never actually believes anything until you’re standing in the entrance of said ship. Or maybe she was still in denial of a dragon. Aisha had thought Deo as a human was hot, but in his dragon form. Well, hell, it wasn’t legal to think of an animal that way. But seriously. All that raw power. Maybe it was just that it was Deo under the powerful blue beast. A sexy, godlike man that could make her wet by a simple look. She’d have jumped his very naked ass right now, except well. Spaceship.
“What do you think?” he asked, as they started down a hallway.
Think. Did one think about the interior design of a spaceship?
“Rustic?” That was all that came to mind. What had she expected? A saucer maybe? This appeared pretty roomy and looked more like an aerodynamic camper or something. Really, it didn’t make any sense.
“My lab’s down this way.”
Her feet moved, but her brain was on vacation right now. A moment in curiosity got the better of her. “What is that?” she asked.
Deo looked over his shoulder. That’s what you call a kitchen, but really, it’s our common area.
She nodded.
A few more feet and another door.
“What is in there?”
Deo shook his head. “Would you like a tour first?”
She couldn’t nod her head fast enough.
“You will soon enough know the ship, so if this makes you happy, I will show you.”
It made her happy, or at least took the edge off of her crazy. This was nuts. Seriously. She was on a spaceship. They walked into what he called the kitchen. But truly it was large enough for a cafeteria? Spacious.
“How many of them are there?” she asked.
He glanced back, a hint of a smile as his eyes went from
