took out the Lightning Sword. The children mustered all their energies.

Suddenly, the ground shook. There was the loud sound of a trumpet.

The Scavenger and the children turned and instantly smiled. It was a beautiful sight.

The allies had arrived.

Trolls and Ogres fell from the skies and landed on the roofs of the mansions. Roaring battle cries, they picked up enemy soldiers and just threw them off the mansions.

Deadly hound-like creatures entered through the gates. For a second, the children thought they were Osay’s reinforcements, but Osay’s hounds appeared much thinner and smaller in comparison.

When the deadly creatures started attacking Osay’s hounds, the children recognized them.

Amozaks!

The Amozaks leapt at the hounds, led by the trainers that controlled them. Each Amozak fought tens of hounds at once, and the air was full of growls.

Octerpillars, a combination of octopus and caterpillar, and Turtoons, a combination of turtle and mammoth, joined the war, spewing poisonous shells and thousands of small caterpillars on the armour of the enemy.

The White City warriors marched through the gates, finishing off the remaining demons. The King of the White City raised a golden spear and led his army forward. The Unicorn King had successfully convinced the White City King to fight with the Scavenger.

The Unicorns, led by the Unicorn King, flooded the area. Deafening sonic booms sounded, and everyone’s ears popped.

The Scavenger and the children felt a gush of renewed energy in them. They moved towards the main entrance of the Library.

The Scavenger observed that the moving platform was continuously going up and down, bringing more and more enemy soldiers each time from the underground.

The Scavenger looked at the children. “It’s time. Matt awaits. Let’s go and win this for him!”

The children nodded. With a yell, they attacked the enemy soldiers spread in the compound. Roots emerged from Daniel’s hands and spread all around, entangling the enemy warriors. Archer shot blobs of fire and James summoned sharp spears of ice, directing them on the soldiers.

As soon as a new batch of soldiers came out of the platform, the children used their Elemental Powers and neutralized them.

The Scavenger and the children decided to go inside the Library through the platform. They attacked a fresh batch of six soldiers, rendering them unconscious. They jumped onto the platform as it started moving down into the Library.

As Pyros watched with eyes widened, Skazen twirled his two swords, facing Flor and Cayden.

Meanwhile, Thomas and Staler blocked the hole from which the demons were pouring out.

Pyros had regained his energy. He summoned magic and, along with Skazen, he attacked Cayden and Flor. Thomas spotted them and directed reinforcements towards them.

All of a sudden, Cayden plunged a sword into Skazen’s right leg. Skazen shrieked in pain. Flor brought out a sword on Skazen’s head, but Pyros’s blocked it.

Staler and Thomas rushed towards them.

Staler was full of rage. He was fighting like a man possessed, anger fuelling his attacks. “You were the ones who made me destroy my Brentinute!” Staler said, looking at Flor. “I won’t let you live!”

Flor bent and plunged his sword towards Staler. Staler dodged to the right just in time.

Suddenly, a roaring Skazen flew towards Flor. Flor had not anticipated the sudden movement and tried to move away, but lost his balance. Staler seized the opportunity and plunged his sword through Flor’s chest.

Flor fell to the ground, dead.

Skazen looked half-dead too. With a sword sticking from his leg, and with multiple cuts and bruises, he looked he could collapse any moment.

Staler rushed towards Skazen to help him.

His eyes widened as he suddenly saw a sword protruding out of Skazen’s stomach.

Skazen fell forward. Cayden was revealed standing behind him. Pyros and Thomas were too late. Cayden had plunged his sword into Skazen’s stomach from behind.

Staler attacked Cayden, but he blocked his attack. Pyros sent a blob of energy right on Cayden’s back, and there was the smell of burning flesh.

Thomas ended the fight, sending three arrows into Cayden’s chest.

Staler, Thomas and Pyros surrounded a barely conscious Skazen.

Thomas was in tears. “I am sorry, Skazen. I thought you were a traitor, but -”

Skazen shook his head. “Don’t worry. It’s okay. At least, now I am redeemed.”

Thomas cried, “It’s my fault.”

Staler acted at once. He took out a bunch of leaves from his pocket and held them above Skazen’s mouth. He pressed them, and a purple juice fell out of them, falling into Skazen’s mouth. “This won’t heal him, but it will help in stabilizing him. We need to get a healer for him, and soon. Pyros, do you know -”

Staler turned, but Pyros was nowhere in sight.

Staler and Thomas had no time to rest. The hole was uncovered and the demons were flooding the area. Only a few guards were left to take on the demons.

“This has gone on long enough,” Staler said, moving forward with a determined expression. He pulled out a small bag full of grenades and ran towards the hole.

Staler reached the hole and threw the bag of grenades with all his force inside the hole.

There was a huge blast, and the ground shook, as if a massive earthquake had hit the place. Smoke filled all around, and everyone started coughing.

Staler had achieved what he had wanted. The demons were not coming out of the hole anymore. The blast had most probably caved the whole underground region.

Suddenly, Pyros came into sight. Green figures were running along with him.

Thomas and Staler realized the reason for Pyros’s disappearance. Pyros had rushed to get aid from the Greenies.

The Greenies killed the demons within moments. The medics took over Skazen.

“You acted at the right time,” the lead medic said. “But for the herbs that you gave him, Skazen would not have lived till now. Rest assured. You have done your part. Now leave it to us.”

They all thanked the medics who attended to Skazen.

More Greenies joined them from all sides after finishing off the last few demons. There were cheers and roars all around.

“We have won,” Staler said, raising his fist.

Thomas didn’t agree. “No.
