“Everything good?” I asked hoping that the Vilanuevas brothers weren’t going to give us any trouble.
“No worries. What was done, needed to be done.”
“It’s sad, he was our younger brother but our family doesn’t do things that way.”
“So this is it, you’ll leave our town alone? Our clubs?” Wire asked his voice heavy.
“Si. We don’t need any trouble here on this side of the water. Selling women was never something we wanted to do. Alejandro thought he could pull it off. He was wrong it would seem.” One of the brothers put their hand out for Wire, “You will have no retaliation from us, that is our word. What’s done is done.”
Wire put his hand out and he shook it sealing the deal.
“Pues, we are not in a very happy time right now so we will take our leave.”
“Wait!” I called out again, not my place but I had to know.
They both turned back to look at me. “A few of our people went missing, one of them just a small child. Would you have any knowledge of where they might be?”
They looked at each other for a moment before turning back towards me. “Lo siento, we don’t know. Unfortunately, our brothers reach was as wide as ours so he could have sent them anywhere. We will ask our people but there is no guarantee that we will find them, knowing my brother though, they are already dead. Again I’m sorry.” They shrugged it off and walked away. There was nothing more I could do. There was no one else to ask. The one man who knew exactly where they were was dead in the middle of our clubhouse.
Wire stepped to me. I was starting to crumble, we had won a great victory here but without my brothers or my Angel I didn’t feel like I had actually won anything. Wire grabbed me by the back of the neck and pressed his forehead to mine.
“We will fucking find them, it’s our only priority now. Finding our people. Don’t give up on them. I know they aren’t giving up on us.”
I picked up my fist and brought it down on Wire’s shoulder, the man was keeping me grounded. He was keeping me in the game. I pulled back from my president and nodded at him once. He was right. We would find them one way or another.
Chapter 28
I walked back in and I had to turn my head as I watched Tex do some truly fucked up things to Vilanuevas body. Some folks were laughing, others were drinking, the majority of people were hugged up with their loved ones.
The bunnies and families were called back from the trailers. Now that the threat was over, everyone was free to come back home.
Of course right away Clean had the music bumping and the portable stripper poles brought out. Alejandro’s body still in the middle of the damn floor. I watched Devin go behind the bar and start setting up to serve. His face still ragged from the mess that we had just gone through but a smile on his lips none the less.
I looked over in the corner, Storm and Vida were going at it. They were kissing and pawing at each other without a care in the world that others were watching or that Tex was probably somewhere videotaping the whole thing. It actually stopped me in my tracks, I knew that Ink and Vida were a thing, a new relationship but I knew that they were together. Then it dawned on me.
They were hurting.
I could understand. Storm was without his twin brother and Vida lost her man and little sister. The immediate danger may have been over with but they still didn’t have any answers, so they were looking for relief through each other. I don’t think anyone would fault them for that. People gt through shit the best way they knew how and at the moment that was their best way.
I kept on walking and made my way up to my room to find Mikki, sitting there waiting for me.
My Mikayla.
I smiled and walked over to my woman. My second chance at life.
“It’s over Mikki. It’s all over.”
“No, it’s just starting. It’s just the beginning.” Mikki reached up pulled me down towards her. “A few weeks ago,” she nuzzled up to my ear, “there were explicit talks of a baby.”
I couldn’t help but smile, I had no idea if or when it would happen for us but I was more than ready to give it my best try.
Epilogue- Rooster
“Rooster, everything straight?” Shepard walked up to me.
“Claro!” I said as I wrapped him up in a hold and walked through the party with him. Wire and his crew were good allies to have. They were ready to kill, ready to lie and cheat if they had to but all of them had a conscience. They were small time, wanting to uphold the law and shit. The Spawns, my brothers were for a different life.
The law had done nothing but get in our way since before I could remember. Now with the Wings in our corner, a former cop on the squad and a town free of all outside influences we could stack our paper.
“Shepard. This town is ripe for the picking.”
He looked up at me, not confused, just waiting instruction. It would be nothing for me to tell him to put a bullet in Wire’s head right now. “We taking them out?”
“No, never. They are a part of us now. They
