“You want to set up shop? We could have a chemist here in a few days. The product up and out within two weeks.”
“No, I don’t want to put a location here but we can start shuffling some shit in.” I looked around the clubhouse I was in and it felt like a hallmark movie all sappy and shit. “They want to play with the bad boys, let’s show them what the fuck this life is really about.”
Epilogue - Prez
I felt like I was living déjà vu.
I combed my hair back and made sure that my kutte was wiped down. My new founder patch still fresh from the embroiderer. Wire deserved to be President, he brought us back from the darkness, I was happy just being one of the founding members of this club.
I looked in the mirror one last time and made my way out of my room. I walked out to the massive group of people in the main area but something steered me away from where I was supposed to be going. There were new faces, a whole new chapter up in Maine, a growing one in New Orleans led by Archer and new family members joining the fold all the time. We were no longer the little club of the past, now everyone knew who the Wings of Diablos were.
It had been a year since we got rid of that bastard Alejandro Vilanuevas, we still had yet to find our missing people. Every time Clean thought he was getting closer to finding something it ended up in a dead end. I would never give up looking though, I would do anything to find my brother. To find my Angel, even if it was to just lay their bodies to rest.
“Devin, brother, I need ten minutes.” He gave me a look.
“You not running are you, I really don’t want to be here if you are.”
I shook my head, “Not on my life. I just have to go see someone first.”
He nodded as I made my way to the back of the compound where we had a small memorial area. All of our fallen members and family were laid there, their marble headstones formed straight lines and there was one I needed to see before I did what I had to do today.
My Laura.
I bent down to wipe some dirt off her headstone, the flowers that I had placed there last week still bright and fresh. “Laura, my love, I don’t know how the fuck to do this.” I looked up to the sky for guidance, “Laura I love you, I will always love you. You know that. I need to move on. Mikayla is a good person, she takes care of me, she sees me. I know you would like her if you knew her. I hope that I make you proud and that you will love us from where you are. Don’t leave me because I need you now more than ever. Being married to you was one thing, but marrying Mikki is a whole other beast. I need to be strong.”
It didn’t take long for Mikki to come up pregnant, I mean we were going at it like wild rabbits. At first she said that she was good with our arrangement. That she knew that I loved her and she loved me, she told me that was all she needed. Closer and closer to her due date though, I began to see the change. Not anger but disappointment and sadness. Apparently when she said it didn’t matter to her, it really did. She wanted to be married to me but didn’t want to force me to do something that I didn’t want to do. I knew I loved her and I was more than ready to make her my ol’ lady. That is why two weeks before her due date she was upstairs in one of the rooms putting her maternity jeans on and wife beater so she could come down and be my wife. We already had already been to the court house and had the official papers but now I had to go make it official with my brothers.
“I am sorry I failed you Laura, I will do my best to be a better husband this time around, I love you.” I kissed my fingers and placed them on the cool marker.
I stood up and looked at the back door where I could see Clean standing there looking anxious. Mikki had become real knife happy in her final weeks of pregnancy, no one wanted to get on her bad side. He was supposed to keep me in the clubhouse, she would cut him if she found out I was out of his vision.
I walked back in and stood in my place. I was ready for this. I had never been surer of anything in my life.
I looked up the stairs as Mikki walked out, Maven and Keeley fluffing her hair up before she took Vida’s hand. They both walked down the stairs together. I couldn’t stop the grin that split my face. She was gorgeous. Wobbling down the stairs, her womb full with my child, her big bright eyes glistening with unshed happy tears.
I gave Vida a kiss as I took her sisters hand from her, I hoped she knew that I would forever protect them, all of them.
I walked with my beautiful woman and stood in front of Wire and the rest of the higher ups.
Déjà vu, except it was me on this side.
“I call to order today a club church meeting. We have matters to discuss.” Everyone yelled and clapped, confetti and other various materials already being thrown in the air. Wire put his hand up to silence the crowd.
“Prez,
