how you break up with someone? You two didn't even notice me walking by," I shouted, trying to keep my voice steady.

"So she kissed me and if you stayed longer you crazy woman you would've seen me push her away. Honest," Nick deep voice rung in the house with his hands wide around him. "Why do you even care?"

"Yeah right, Nick. Then on top of that you dared to come home to me and kiss me after you kissed her," I screeched, praying that I wouldn't break out in tears now of all moments after all these years without them falling.

I was the strong one. I was the rock to help everyone else; there was no time to show weakness.

"I can touch my own damn wife!"

"No, you can't," I snapped, with arms crossed firmly across my chest, not willing to let him win this argument.

"You want to bet?"

Nick pulled me against his body firmly. His lips forced themselves against mine with such force I was surprised that I was still standing. I kept trying to push Nick away from me or to attempt to hit him once again, but his grip just got tighter on me to keep me close to him. Though his hands were not too hard that they would leave bruises, but more so to keep me sandwiched between him and the counter. It took me a little bit to realize that I had my arms looped around his neck pulling Nick even closer rather than pushing him further away.

Little by little I rolled onto my toes so there was not as much of a height difference between Nick and me. I felt his mouth open up, meshing against mine to do the same. My head started to spin, the warmth of his tongue gliding between my lips. This was not like last time. As our tongues met my heart beat against my chest hard and fast. My body was melting against him and I never thought that I could ever feel like that. I was sure Nick could feel my heart beating against his chest. Nick's hand was on my lower back and had the ends of my hair intertwined in his fingers. This was definitely not what I had expected to happen today…

Nick

"Would you like to explain something to me, Rachel?" I asked softly, glancing up from my food to the girl before me.

"Sure," Rachel's voice was sweet and innocent, as she responded as if she really had no idea what I was about to ask her.

"Why are we eating Thanksgiving dinner on the floor, when we could be eating at the table?" I posed poking that last bit of my food with my fork.

Not going to lie, but Rachel and I cooking together actually ended pretty well. The food was damn good. We were not going to starve. Well, I was not going to starve. As a couple we worked well in the kitchen so that had to be a good sign for something. Who knew how long we were going to be married for, but we would always be able to have edible food.

"We do that every day, plus this is more memorable. This Thanksgiving is unusual and so unlike any other so we might as well keep up the theme," Rachel spoke, as she tilted her head ever so slightly with her wing necklace draping onto the floor.

Rachel was lying on the floor on her stomach facing me with her feet swaying in the air. Through the whole meal I waited to see if her wing or hair would fall into the food, but they never did. I really don't know how girls managed that. Rachel ate the last of her dinner as I was done just playing with the crumbs with my fork. I wasn't feeling the idea of getting up to go get more food. That meant standing followed by walking, it just was not going to happen. I was sitting on the ground with my back up against the couch so that I could face Rachel. Her gesture was so amiable and pure as she seemed be in her own world while chewing. I smiled as I held back small laughter at her. She was seriously different than other girls that I have hung around with.

"So you never asked what made me stop kissing Amanda," I brought up, not able to keep myself from telling her.

I couldn't wait to see her reaction.

Yet I noticed that she winced, as I mentioned Amanda's name.

"Because I knew how much it would swell your head," Rachel replied, each of her words were pronounced sharply yet, her gaze was on her plate, there was obviously more to her words than that.

"So does that mean you do or don't want to know?" I questioned again, still getting no eye contact from her.

"I don't," Rachel answered quickly, without a second thought, as some of her hair fell from behind her, over the shoulder to be in front of her.

"Okay I'll tell you, you dragged it out of me, Rach. I heard the rain when Amanda and I were kissing. That brought me back to that night not too long ago where you and I were in the rain. I could see you just as clearly as that night, twirling and skipping with your laughter ringing in my ears," I told the tale, not able to stop grinning at the memory.

She was about to be putty in my hands. Wait for it…wait for it…here comes the big eyes of awe and smile…

"Do you know how crazy you sound?" She finally looked up at me with an eyebrow high in the air.

Woah wait, that was not the right reaction. Where was the giggling, the blushing? The praises about how awesome I was?

"Most girls would love to hear that," my voice rising in pitch slightly, my smirk vanished. "Isn't that a good thing to know the guy is thinking about you and can't be
