ELEVEN
Nobu looked up as Imani and Haiden walked in, and he grinned.
“Come on sit down, they just announced it!” He said excitedly, pointing at the tv. Imani saw that the news was on and she and Haiden walked into the living room.
“It’s breaking news.” Nobu fairly giggled.
Senator Reed J. Best was found murdered this morning, in his home, in Cheyenne Wyoming. However, his murder was first alerted to Pascua Kittleman, of The Washington National news. Kittleman received a call this morning at 6am he said. He received a recording, a confession of sorts. It has been turned over to the FBI for not only authentication, but investigation as well. Kittleman confirmed that Senator Best confessed to a number of murders for hire, which is being looked into. Kittleman states that because of the complexity of this and the FBI’s assurance that he will have access first hand to the ongoing investigation. Kittleman said that he notified the FBI, because this seemed like something bigger than local police, and with a standing Senator. The FBI has confirmed the murder of Senator Best in the Cheyenne home, but would say little else.
Imani sat down beside Nobu and Haiden sat beside her. They all grinned at each other.
“Is this going to mean trouble for me Nobu?” Imani asked.
“No, half of those hits weren’t you, as you know. We both know you were careful. When they get a hold of his computer, they will find the emails, but anything coming here and to Haiden’s computer had been washed. I also went in and deleted our websites. They will see he wrote to someone, but the investigators will not find who the message were sent to. Only that Best sent them. When I set up for Haiden’s computer for the second call from Lawbreaker, I sent in a little bug to eat anything that may have been sent to or from both you and Haiden.” Nobu said, smiling.
“You’re hired.” Haiden laughed, and leaned over to slap Nobu on the shoulder. Nobu pinked and beamed.
“Oh, they’ll find the emails he sent, I made sure of that. Getting into his computer remotely was easy. I went and sifted through all his deleted files and pulled them back to the surface. They’ll be easy enough for the tech weenies to find. However, anything from you is gone, and anything to you will have bogus routing data and so on. It will lead nowhere.” Nobu said.
“Good, thanks again.” Haiden said.
“Senator Best was a very naughty boy. It would seem that he liked young boys as well.” Nobu added darkly.
“Bastard, no wonder he wanted so many people killed. They either knew or found out about his dirty little secret.” Haiden said, his voice betraying his anger.
“They are secrets, no more. I sent them to the Washington National News, Wyoming’s local law enforcement, D.C. police and also local news affiliates in Wyoming. As well as CNN.” Sniggered Nobu.
Imani reached over and hugged him and planted a kiss on his cheek. Haiden laughed.
“Remind me not to piss you off Nobu. I think you could single handedly destroy the world.” Haiden said.
“Yeah, you remember that too.” He grinned.
“Idiot.” Imani sniggered.
They watched more news that was rolling in, most of it was rehashed and there were shots from the air, over Best’s home. There were police and forensic, FBI down below. It looked like someone had kicked an anthill.
“If I’d known about the kids, I would have taking a lot longer to kill him.” Imani grumbled.
“It’s a good thing you didn’t, it might have lead investigators back to here.” Haiden said, his fingers riffling through her hair.
“This is true. It doesn’t matter, he’s gone and won’t hurt anyone else.” Imani smiled.
“I’d better go up and see about Jezebel, I’m sure she’s missed me.” Haiden said, getting up.
“I’ll be up later, if that’s okay, to meet her.” Imani said.
“Sure thing, get some rest.” He said and kissed the top of her head.
“Thanks again Nobu, you did awesome.” Haiden said and left.
“I like him.” Nobu said and laid his head on Imani’s shoulder.
“Me too.” She laughed.

Imani took the elevator down to the tenth floor. She found Haiden’s apartment quickly and rang the doorbell. It took a few moments, but she heard his footsteps through the door. He opened it and smiled down at her.
“Come on in.” He grinned and let her in. Imani saw a fluffy gray flash dart across the room. She laughed and pointed.
“Yeah, she’s shy, at first. Come on it.”
“Nice apartment, nice paintings.” She said, looking around.
“Thanks, I like to think so.” He grinned.
“You painted these?” She said surprised, when he’d told her he painted, she figured they were small canvases. These were large, a couple of them were five by ten feet. She could see that they were of different cities, Paris, Rome and Tokyo. It was amazing, the vivid colors.
“Yeah, I like to play and paint, it’s nice when I get back, especially when we went to the Basilica. It really inspired me to paint even more. When I have a job over there in Europe, I try to stop by the art museums.”
“These are beautiful Haiden. Have you ever sold any? Or put them in a gallery?” She asked, in awe of the paintings.
“I have a couple in one gallery. I’ve sold a couple as well.” He said, modestly, smiling.
She walked over to the large canvas on the easel, there was a cloth hanging
