I think about Jaws Junior’s statement about going back to his old neighborhood and I wonder if it’s smart to go back as I could have lost Lauren forever today.
“I’ll pass on coming back here,” I say and Lauren joins in, “Me too.”
“What did you make of what that fat guy Tiny said about the prison?” asks Jaws Junior.
I think about Jaws Junior’s question as Jaws Junior speeds down the road.
“I guess it makes sense that people are living in the prison. It has to be safe from the zombies and if you control the prison, then it’s like a fortress,” says Jaws Junior.
“Yeah, well that’s the last thing we need to deal with around here. Escaped convicts hitting the streets,” I say.
Jaws Junior drives down the street and heads back to Citrus Oaks.
Phil, Nicole, Mason, Mia, Kylie, and Matt walk down an interior hallway of the Haven and approach the Medical room.
Dr. Vargas is talking with Hector in the Haven Medical room when Phil and his group enter the room.
“Okay, be safe,” says Dr. Vargas to Hector and then Dr. Vargas kisses Hector on the lips.
“Hey everyone,” says Hector to Phil and his group.
Dr. Vargas walks over to Mason and Mia and Nicole.
“What’s up Hector?” asks Phil as Hector walks towards the exit of the Medical room.
“Just about to head out, you want to join us?” answers Hector.
Phil exits the Medical room with Hector.
“Where are you going?” asks Phil to Hector.
“I’m heading out with a group to check out a couple buildings. We are looking for Conquerors,” answers Hector.
“Who is going with you?” asks Phil.
“My usual group, plus a couple people Bruce wants with me,” answers Hector.
Shaun sees Phil and Hector talking in the interior Haven hallway and he walks over to them.
“What’s up ladies?” jokes Shaun to Phil and Hector.
“About to head out, you want to join?” asks Hector to Shaun.
“Where you going?” asks Shaun to Hector.
“Just around to a couple spots that we think are being occupied by Conquerors now,” answers Hector.
“You going Phil?” asks Shaun.
“No, we are here to meet with Dani and possibly talk with Bruce and William,” answers Phil.
“So you in Shaun or what?” asks Hector.
Shaun looks at Phil and then Hector and Shaun answers Hector, “I’m going to sit this one out, but let me know about the next one.”
“Will do, see you guys later,” replies Hector and then Hector walks down the interior hallway away from Shaun and Phil.
“What’s up Phil? I feel like I haven’t seen you and the guys in forever,” says Shaun.
“Yeah, it does feel like a while,” replies Phil.
“Ry here?” asks Shaun to Phil.
“No, he went out on a run with JJ,” answers Phil.
“Where were they going?” asks Shaun.
“Trying to bring back JJ’s motorcycle from his old house,” answers Phil.
“Who is all with you?” asks Shaun.
“Matt, Kylie, Nicole, and the kids,” answers Phil.
“Family affair,” jokes Shaun.
Shaun and Phil overhear Matt talking with Dr. Vargas and Dr. Vargas replies to Matt, “Kylie looks to be doing well, but I’ll check her out.”
Phil peeks into the Haven Medical room and says, “Come on Matt, let the ladies be in here.”
“I’ll be fine, go with Phil,” says Kylie to Matt.
Matt, with a worried expression on his face, asks Kylie, “Are you sure?”
“Yeah, I’ll come find you in a little bit,” answers Kylie.
“You okay Nicole?” asks Phil as he stands in the doorway of the Medical room.
“Yeah, I’ll stay with Kylie and we’ll come find you guys,” answers Nicole.
Matt, after a couple more seconds with Kylie, walks towards the exit of the Medical room and meets up with Phil and Shaun.
Shaun takes Phil and Matt into the Haven cafeteria and they sit and enjoy some lunch together.
“Is it me or is the food different now?” asks Matt as he looks down at the food that is on his plate.
“The food has changed, I think the rations are running low,” answers Shaun.
“You keeping tabs on the food supply?” jokes Phil to Shaun.
“Actually I am,” replies Shaun with a smile on his face.
“What’s been going on around here?” asks Phil to Shaun.
“I’m not exactly sure, but I’ve heard that the Conquerors have been more and more of a problem recently,” answers Shaun.
“Jacob and DK?” asks Phil to Shaun.
“Not sure, but I think they attacked the Big Club and a couple groups of Haven Warriors that were out on patrol,” answers Shaun.
“Wonder why Bruce or William hasn’t let us know about the attacks?” asks Phil.
“Maybe it’s not a big deal,” answers Matt.
Phil looks around the Haven cafeteria and he notices that the Haven cafeteria is pretty crowded.
“I wonder how many people are living here now?” asks Phil.
“It’s felt pretty crowded around here recently,” says Shaun.
Shaun, Phil, and Matt exit the Haven cafeteria and they enter the open Haven central courtyard.
“Is anyone there?” is heard over Phil’s radio.
Phil picks up his radio and answers, “This is Phil.”
“Where are you Phil?” I ask into my radio as I stand inside Shaun’s garage inside Citrus Oaks.
“I’m at the Haven with Shaun and Matt. Where are you?” answers Phil into his radio.
“I’m back home. We were attacked by some prisoners,” I answer into my radio.
“Are you okay?” asks Phil into his radio.
“Yeah, luckily we weren’t hurt, but the prisoners could be a problem around here now,” I answer into my radio.
Matt looks at Phil as Phil asks into his radio, “What do you mean?”
“I’ll explain when you guys get back here,” I answer into my radio.
