Gabriel you’re just in time. I think you’re my good luck charm. Maybe it was your hug before you got off the elevator that sparked my winning streak. Here, blow on these dice.” She turned in my arm and lifted the dice to my lips. I took them out of her hand.

“Nah ma, you need to walk away. These dice ain’t your friend tonight!” She sucked in her breath and tried to pull away from me, but I didn’t let her go.

“I can’t walk away now, I’m almost there.” Her eyes were glazed over. I chuckled. My girl was an addict only after one day.

“That’s just it, you’re not almost there, you in the hole. If you gamble anymore we’re going to be on the streets.” Of course that was not true. I had won double of what she had lost upstairs, but I’d hoped that she would hear that and see reason.

She didn’t.

“See, that’s why you have to let me continue to play. I was on a winning streak. I can feel it, it’ll come back, and this time I will stop when I win all the money back.”

Wow! She was sexy as hell when she begged.

“Yas, you done for the night!”

Gambling addicts went through stages. First, it’s the high. Then it’s the reasoning, then denial, anger, and then acceptance. My little wife here had just reached the anger stage. Her beautiful purple eyes flashed up at me.

“You can’t tell me what to do!” She said trying to snatch away from me again. With a grin on my face I held her in place.

“Sure I can.”

“No, you can’t!” She growled between clenched teeth. I looked up at Mac amazed. My little kitten has claws. Mac didn’t look amused. He wore that look on his face that said he was getting ready to go into guardian angel mode. I shook my head… Mac a$$ was uptight at times.

“Look, you don’t need the money its cool. I was only joking about you putting us in the poor house.” She began nodding her head before I could finish speaking.

“Yeah! But I do need the money!” I laughed at her, amused by her antics.

“Nah baby, you straight, trust me. We got money.” She hit my chest with her little fist, good and enraged now.

“Stop laughing at me!” She growled.

“Alright folks! We’re going to be closing this table down for maintenance, but please feel free to join one of our other state of the art tables.” Gino said, breaking up the audience that my little temptress was attracting. She tried to turn and look at Gino, but I didn’t let her.

“Gabe let me go! He can’t close down this table, it’s hot!”

“Shorty, you’re done!” I told her giving her a little shake. This pissed her off. She turned back to look at me, and I promise if she had a gun she would have shot me.

“I’m not done, because I haven’t won any money! And no, I don’t want your money. I don’t want your anything! I want to get my own money, so that I can get away from you!”

“What you just say to me?”

Yasmin

It was at that moment I realized I had messed up. I could see the change come over him.

“Oh sh*t!” I heard Mac mutter from somewhere behind me, but I didn’t dare take my eyes off Gabriel. My fever instantly fled, leaving me to face this man beast alone.

“You don’t want my anything?” Quicker than I could blink he scooped me up in his arms. I squeaked completely taken off guard. He turned to look at Gino.

“Brother, please forgive me, but my wife and I won’t be able to join you for dinner.” Gino held up his hands.

“Hey man, it’s no problem. It’s your honeymoon. We’ll do lunch tomorrow.”

“You got it buddy!” Gabe said, before turning and carrying me out of the room. People stared at us as if we were a happy couple on our way to our love suite. They didn’t see the rage that he was barely holding on to.

However, Mac and Gabe’s other men who were quickly following behind us knew and understood how serious this situation was.

“Gabe!” Mac called after him.

Gabe stopped and turned to face him.

“Goddamn Mac, I don't need my babysitter tonight okay!”

Mac concerned eyes fell to me. “Just be careful with her bruh.”

Gabe took a step closer to him narrowing his angry eyes at him.

“Do you really think I'm going to hurt my wife?”

Mac looked down to the floor for a minute as he rubbed his hand over his head in a frustrated manner. The fact that he was so filled with doubt only confirmed what I knew about Gabriel to be true. Mac was his best friend. Stacy said they had known each other since they were in diapers. He was truly worried that Gabe would hurt me.

“I just want you to be careful, that’s all!” He finally muttered.

Gabe glared at him a moment longer before he turned and walked pass the elevator to the door that read exit, and took the steps up three at a time at a speed that had me clutching him tight, holding on for dear life. This was not normal. No human man could move this fast.

By the time we reached the top floor, I was amazed to see he wasn't even winded. He shifted me to one arm and used his other hand to slide the key card in the door.

Goodness gracious, this man was strong!

He carried me into the suite and didn't put me on my feet until we were in the bedroom. Instantly, I fled as far away from him as I could.

“What you doing Gabe?” I asked as he stepped out of his boots.

He didn't answer me right away; instead he lifted his shirt over his head, pulling his t-shirt and his under shirt off in one swoop.  My eyes fell to his muscled stomach and chest, and instantly something down in my core came awoke.
