“Girl, let’s get you back to the house!” Yes, that was a good Idea. I needed to get back to Gabe. She helped me stand and walk out of Starbucks. Right then a limo pulled up in front of us.
“Oh look, there is Gabriel now. He came to pick you up.” I tried to smile. Feeling waves of relief. I was losing control of my body. It was getting harder to walk and to even lift my hand. Gabe was right on time, like always.
Shanice opened the door. “Here, watch your head Yas!” She guided my head in the car. I sat down heavy on the seat as my legs gave out. She slid in next to me, shutting us in the dark car. I frowned, something was wrong.
Right as the car took off, the interior light came on revealing the man from the Autism ball sitting on the seat across from us. He wore an evil smirk on his handsome face.
“Hey beautiful... it's been a long time!”
I tried to scream but it came out a whimper.
“What's the matter Yasmin? This is cause for a celebration! You've returned to your rightful master.” I turned to look at Shanice, beginning to feel drunk; asking her why with my eyes.
She threw her head back and laughed clapping her hands together.
“You are so gullible girl. You really should have stayed in Mayberry cause you ain't got what it takes to survive on these streets!”
She had drugged me with the same stuff she had given me the night I danced at Shugga's. But it must have been a stronger dose because I was already losing my bearings.
“So you lied, none of that stuff actually happened?” I whispered.
“Oh no, I didn't lie! Your husband did destroy Shugga. The stupid bi***! And yes she did fire me! Buuuut...” She sang gesturing toward the man on the opposite seat.
“A very handsome, rich man came to visit me today; said he would pay me a million dollars to deliver you up to him.” She leaned in toward me.
“What is it about you girl that attracts such powerful men?” She whispered.
I could not answer her. It was taking all my will power to hold my head up straight on my neck. The drug was changing me, I squeezed my legs together.
“What.... did... you... give... me?” I asked, but it came out as a moan. I was beginning to feel so aroused.
“A Mickey on steroids!”
Oh my God!
No!
No! This could not be happening. “Why?”
“Sorry babe's, I need the money.” Her gaze went to the man across from us.
“Speaking of which, where is it?”
He chuckled, before reaching into the inside pocket of his tailored suit and pulling out a gold card. Shanice eyes zoomed in on the card before she launched forward out the seat to reach for it. But she must have gotten too excited or something because her feet got tangled up with each other, which sent her sprawling damn near head first into the man’s lap.
He looked down at her in amusement as he handed her the card. She didn't even straighten herself. She just turned to sit on her butt at his feet; holding up the card like it was her God. He rubbed her head almost lovingly.
“For the love of money…” He all but purred as he watched the joy that came upon Shanice face. It was almost as if it turned him on.
“It always amazes me to see what you humans would be willing to do for it.”
Something was wrong with her. She just sat there staring at the card with a look of bliss on her face. My gaze came back up to his. And the way he watched me made me want to vomit. He felt so dirty.
“They never think about the consequences of their actions.” He whispered, while rubbing his finger across her neck.
“Such a pretty neck… what a shame.”
When he took his hand off her, she seemed to snap out of whatever trance she was in. Because she blinked rapidly coming to her feet, staggering back to the seat we shared.
“Sorry about that, guess I got too excited. Is it all here?” She asked, holding up the card that flashed unnaturally gold in the dim interior of the limo.
He nodded. “Yes child, it's all there. But if I were you, I’d hurry.”
The car came to a stop as soon as he uttered those words.
“The Slayer is coming, and you don't want him to get a hold of you. They are quite vicious in nature!” He shivered. “Brutal men they are!”
Shanice stared at him confused.
He nodded toward the door. “Tick, tock dear… every minute that passes is a minute that brings him closer.”
She put her hand on the knob opening the door, but before she got out she looked back at me. The smile was gone from her face and a look of real pity replaced it.
“Sorry Yas!” She whispered before she got out shutting the door behind her.
The car began moving instantly.
“You know, that was a real nasty thing you did to my host back on your farm. Good thing I have back up.”
I frowned moving my lips, but no words came out. I wanted to ask him what did he mean, host? How did he know about what happened on the farm?
“You look confused sweetheart. Are you wondering who I am?”
He moved then, and I gasped from the speed of it. One second he’d been sitting at least ten feet away from me, and in the next he was right next to me. He reached out adjusting me on the seat so that I was facing him. I clenched my teeth from the mix of repulsion and pleasure that shot through me at his touch.
“My name is…” He began, but the car came to a stop. Looking up he smiled.
“Oh, we’re here to change over.” The door opened, and he stepped out.
“Bring the girl!” He said to someone. A white man
