the back of the stool. Not having to wait long as the bartender jumps to attention at seeing me there. Knowing damn well who I am, he drops what he is doing to get me my drink. Sliding me a glass, I lift it up to my lips, relishing in the slight burn on the golden amber liquid as it slides down my throat.

As I am about to raise it up once more I feel a hand graze across the back of my shoulders. Snapping my hand up I grasp it at the wrist twisting it into an uncomfortable bend. I jerk it forward as a body is thrown into the counter at the bar next to me. Alice's pouting face comes into full view as she looks up to me trying to hide the malice that I don't miss, before masking it behind a contrite pout.

“Alice.” I coolly greet as I release her hand, tossing it out of my grasp before turning my attention back to my drink. My shoulders loosen realizing there is no actual threat.

“How was the wedding?” Rubbing her wrist, she speaks in a childish tone. Not really giving a damn how it was and both knowing it.

“It was wonderful, the bride was blushing and beautiful, and the wedding night was tremendous, I didn't get a wink of sleep.” I goad her, trying to piss her off enough to leave me alone. “But if you're curious, maybe check out the papers? I think they covered it there somewhere. Seeing as how you weren't invited.”

Her eyes narrow as my words get to her. “Wonderful,” she grinds out, between a forced smile. “Well as always it's been a pleasure but I have somewhere to be.” She surprises me with her words, having thought she would lash out with a tantrum. I watch her curiously as she turns, disappears through the crowd. Picking up my glass I down the rest of the liquid, suddenly ready to leave and go home.

Tomorrow Daveon returns and we meet so I can fill him in on everything. We discuss what I need him to take care of and do as he will be in charge while I am gone. I don’t want any problems to arise in the meantime. Though he is listening he seems to be in a sour mood at having returned and his attitude is making me come close to snapping. As soon as we finish our discussion he storms out. I’m not sure what the fuck his problem is but I don’t try to stop him as my patience has already worn thin.

With nothing too exciting going on, the rest of the afternoon begins to drag becoming unbearable. It's dark by the time I decide to finally leave and go. A growing need to get home, throw my wife on the bed and ravage her body.

Walking in the room I go through the motions like every other night before climbing on the bed. “Hi beautiful.” I greet her as I wrap my arms around her waist, burying my face into her neck. Inhaling her sweet euphoric scent. Placing my lips against her skin.

“How was your day?” Though her voice is calm something sounds off.

Maybe she is upset that I have been away so much these past few days. “It was ok, just busy trying to get things sorted before we leave.” I say, trying to remind her of why I am doing it.

“Ya,” she gives a brief pause. “I had just remembered you still had my mother’s clip from our wedding night. Do you mind grabbing it so I can put it away?”

“Oh ya.” I had forgotten I still had it. Climbing back off the bed I walk over to my discarded jacket laying over a chair. Reaching into the pocket I feel around for the clip, before coming up empty. It's gotta be in the other side. Shoving my hand into the opposite pocket I shift my hand around. My body tenses as I still don’t feel the cool metal I'm looking for under my fingers. Shit!

“Lil… I think I may have lost it. It’s not here.” I turn to her as my brows draw tight, knowing she is going to be upset.

“Oh well it’s fine, don’t worry about it.” Her voice is so quiet I almost don’t hear her.

Yup she is upset. Fuck, how did I lose it. “I’ll have someone check with the hotel tomorrow, maybe it fell out in the room.” I think back on everywhere I have been, realizing all the places it could be. “I am not sure where it fell out but I will look for it, I know a few places I can look.” She doesn’t respond with anything but a sharp nod.

Well there goes my chances of ravaging her. Making my way back into the bed I roll over to her, returning her to my arms, knowing she is upset. Noting to send men to a few places in search of it tomorrow before I fall asleep.

Liliana’s mood doesn’t seem to improve over the next day or two. In fact it seems to have gotten worse after I gave her the news that I wasn’t able to locate it. I had expected her to be mad but how she has been acting is a little excessive, especially for her.

She is cold and distant towards me, and I feel my nerves slipping into a dangerous place. Growing tired of the third degree she is giving me over a fucking hair clip. I get it has meaning but it’s not like I lost it on purpose. Leaving the office early that night after I ensure everything is in place for tonight's shipment transfer, I call Liliana.

The phone rings for a while before she finally picks up. Each ring irritated me further. “Hello?”

Not in the mood to try to be sweet I get straight to the point. “Get dressed and ready, we are going out to dinner. I will be there shortly
