She seems to take her sweet time getting ready, making me wait an additional half hour for her to finish up before we leave. The car ride is a long stretch of static silence as the tension rises between us. Eager to get out of the car I jumped out at our arrival, walking around to help Liliana out before leading her into the restaurant.
I order her a glass of wine to give her time to look over the menu. I stare at her as she tries to focus on the words in front of her. I know she senses me watching her as her features are tensed.
“Liliana, what is going on?” I ask annoyance rising at not knowing what the fuck is going on.
“Nothing, why do you ask?” She clips out in a tight voice. My eyes react to her tone as they narrow. Feeling myself grow more agitated my voice dips low laced with darkness.
“Liliana I don’t.-” My words are interrupted by the shrill ringing of my phone. I glance down at the screen to see Ciro calling. Picking it up I answer it moving my eyes back to Liliana. “What do you want?” I let my anger flow through my words like molten lava.
“Someone attacked the shipment. They killed two of our men and lit the fucking thing on fire!.”
“WHAT?” I roar out, unable to contain my rage any further. Several people look around at me but I don’t give a fuck.
“You need to get down here now.” Jerking up and out of my chair I motion with my hand for Liliana to follow me. I don’t look back to see if she obeys as I am walking out of the door to the valet.
“What do you mean it's on fire?”
“ I mean its in the middle of the fucking road on fire. They didn’t even take anything, just lit it up and left.”
“Are you fucking kidding me. I need you to get men there now. I want it cleaned up before the cops arrive.”
“I don’t think we will have time. They will be here any minute with all the commotion. What are we even supposed to do with it?”
“I don’t give a fuck! Make it happen.” Slamming my finger against the screen to hang up the phone as the car pulls up. I lean into the window to address Liliana’s guards. “Take her home. I need to leave. You are to go straight home, no where else.” I command. I don’t have time to worry about where she is at right now. Turning to her standing behind me she has a mix of worry and distress clearly painted on her face.
“Our shipment was attacked tonight, and I need to leave to take care of this mess. We will finish our discussion at home when I return.” Hearing the familiar roar of Daveon's car I spin around to go get in. I send a message to Elijah, letting him know we need to talk. I place my thumb to my forehead between my eyes as I feel the tension building there. Fuck, I hate having to involve him more than I have to. He might be on our side persay, but I don’t enjoy having to deal with cops, even dirty ones. That is why I make Marina do it for me, I prefer not to be indebted to anyone let alone him for doing me a favor and making things disappear if shit goes south tonight.
Daveon takes us to the club so we can get the back end of things cleaned up in case we have to meet with Elijah. While I send him to make some calls, I head downstairs to start wiping files on the computer. As I near the office door I notice it is left slightly ajar. Whatthe fuck. Reaching to my waist I pull out my gun cocking it with an all but silent click. Nudging the door open as I peer into the office, gun up and ready to fire as I sweep the room. Stopping when the barrel of my gun lands on a barely clothed Alice, sitting atop my desk in a very lewd outfit. A feline-like grin spreads over her face as excitement lights in her eyes at seeing my gun pointed in her direction. This woman is fucking psychotic.
Irritation surges through my blood at seeing her here, having broken into my office I snap. “Alice what the fuck are you doing here!” Despite my roaring tone, her eyes don’t waiver from me. Not even as I step into the office, not lowering the gun as I keep it positioned straight on her.

LILIANA
Standing on the curb stunned at what just happened, though not fully understanding it. I only caught bits and pieces of Nico’s conversation with whoever was on the other line. I don’t know what to think of his words or his rushing away, leaving me standing here alone. Despite my anger towards him, I do feel a little worried over what will happen. He seemed pretty adamant about not getting the cops involved. Surely he has a means of getting out of trouble. I mean you can’t run the underground crime ring if you don’t have a get out of jail free card up your sleeve….can you?
I’m pulled from my thoughts as one of my guards places his hand on my back, trying to get me to move towards the car. Sighing I reluctantly let him lead me, where he opens the door for me to slide in. Closing the door he gets back into the passenger side before we pull away from the curb. I sit yet again in silence as we make our way through the city back to home, taking forever as we are clear on the other end
