of town. Watching traffic fly by before I settled back as I try to think of the conversation we will be having once Nico gets home. What do I even say to him? Do I confront him and ask him what happened? Will he even tell me the truth? Will I know if what he tells me is the truth?

Maybe we don’t even have to have the conversation tonight. I’m sure by the time he gets home it will be too late anyway. He will most likely be in a dark mood from everything that happened. How am I supposed to deal with that tonight. I audibly sigh as I close my eyes. Tonight can’t really get any worse could it?

*Ping* I open my eyes upon hearing the sound of a text coming through. Reaching for my phone I turn on the screen. Seeing a notification of a text from an unknown number. Clicking the message it opens under my finger. I gasp as I drop the phone on my lap. Staring at the image I was sent.

“Liliana, is everything alright?” One of the guards asks looking through the mirror at me. Ignoring him I pick up the phone bringing it closer to my face as I stare at the picture. Alice is sitting on Nico’s lap with her back to him, in nothing other than the lingerie she had been purchasing the other day. He is holding her hands extended above her body, as he is leaning towards her ear.

It's from tonight as he is in the exact same suit from when he left me at dinner... When he left me for an emergency... When he lied to go to her. My heart shatters as I can no longer deny what I didn’t want to believe.

Tears well in my eyes at my heartbreak and sheer stupidity. My emotions jump around going from, heartache, to embarrassment, to resentment before settling on anger. It was easier to channel, it didn’t feel like it had a tight grip on my throat threatening to suffocate me. Why should I be sad? It’s not like he ever proclaimed to love me. A fire rises in the pit of my stomach as my mind rages. He left me at dinner to go to her. Telling me we would talk when he got home, like he had more important things to do. Screw him.

“Mrs. Is everything alright.” Fully turned now and looking at me.

“I need you to take me to Nico.” I say firmly. We will fucking talk right now. The man's eyes pull together as he ponders what to say.

“I ugh, we were given strict instructions to take you home.”

Oh I'm sure you were.  “I said I need you to take me to see Nico right now.” I demand.

Shaking his head as he turns back forward. “Sorry Liliana. We can’t.” Steam is practically rolling off me as I turn looking out the window. I see it before we even come to a stop. Opportunity.

Fuck Nico, and fuck his instructions. Up ahead at the upcoming yellow light is a taxi waiting on the curb on the opposite side of the road. Pulling to a stop I wait for my moment. Right as the light turns green and the car ahead of us lets off its brake light, I open the door darting out of the car, running to the other side of the road.

“Liliana!” I hear my name booming over the sound of traffic and horns as I weave my way through. Getting to the other side just in time to jump into the open door a man is holding out for another woman. Grabbing the door I yank it out of his shocked grip and close it.

“Hurry go!” I tell the driver trying to catch my breath. He pulls away from the curb driving off as I look back, seeing my guards still trying to make their way through the traffic that is now bustling through the light.

“Are you okay Miss?” The driver asks, pulling my attention back up to him.

“Yes I am fine. Thank you.”

“Okay, so where to?” I give him the name of the club as he drives us back to the area we just left. It doesn’t take long until we are pulling up in front of the busy club. Grabbing some money from my wallet I hand it to him.

“Do you think you could wait here for a few minutes? I think I am going to need a ride again really soon.”

He raises a brow at me. “You gonna be in some kind of trouble?”

Shaking my head at his assumption. “No, my husband is cheating on me in there and I need a way out once I confront him.” His accusing expression softens to sympathy and pity.

“Ya, okay, but I will only wait for fifteen minutes before I have to leave.”

“Thank you.” I say, nodding as I turn to leave and enter the club. I am let right in by the front guards as they clearly know who I am. Walking past the back room as I head to the basement. I stop at the bottom of the stairs as I see a light shining under the cracks of the door in an otherwise dark hallway. Taking a deep breath I force my feet to move in its direction. Again stilling as I place my hand on the doorknob. Taking in another deep breath, preparing myself for what I am about to see with my own eyes.

Pushing open the door I take in what awaits me. No longer sitting on his lap, but lying on her back upon the desk, as Nico is standing between her legs as he grips her throat. Bend down close to her face as he speaks to her in a quiet but rough tone. Her eyes meet mine before Nico realizes I am here.

Snaking her arms up around his neck she yanks him down, bridging the small distance between their lips. My traitorous eyes
