She was glad the floors had carpeting, even if it gave her the creeps. She didn’t even want to know what was on the floor, ground into the carpet fibers. She and Haiden might be doing the yappy dog a favor, this was no place for an animal, nor people. The lump sighed and snorted, and a muffled staccato of farts shot out and the figure settled back down.

She stood, not moving, she knew it was vital to let the person settle back into deep sleep. As she waited, her eyes scanned the room. Clothing all over, along with several boxes, an over turned chair. A clothes hamper, clearly not used. The dark curtains covering the window were drawn closed. She moved forward then.

Coming up to the bed, she holstered her weapon and pulled the small taser. She waited for Haiden to go to the other side of the bed, the woman was on that side. He could subdue her until she could zap her. The sleeping man’s face was away from her and so she put the taser to the back of his neck and zapped him. His body jerked, but he said nothing. Haiden reached over and zapped the woman, who went ridged as well.

Quickly, Imani snatched up a sock and shoved it in the man’s mouth, and threw another sock over to Haiden who did the same. She pulled the zip ties from her utility belt and quickly secured the man’s hands together behind his back. Tossing some of the ties to Haiden, he did the same to the woman and then her ankles. While he did that, she took several of the ties and linked them together and then secured the man’s ankles tightly. She didn’t want him going anywhere.

Nodding to the door, she led Haiden to the locked door. She pulled her lockpick tools and unlocked the door easily. She looked in and found two women chained to a bed. They had ball gags in their mouths and the room smelled of excrement. She saw a woman raise her head, then it fell back. She heard the whimpering. She felt Haiden’s hands on her shoulders, squeezing tightly. She could feel his shaking, and thought, like her, it was rage, she was sure.

Softly closing the door, the two looked around the rest of the house. They found no one else. She stopped by the kitchen and checked and found the dog alive. She grinned and left him. Going into the back bedroom, she yanked the rest of the blanket off the man. He’d come around and was struggling to get out of the ties. Imani grabbed his arm and rolled him off the bed, where he made a loud thump.

The man landed on his back and his bound arms and cried out through the gag. The woman started screaming through her gag.

“You’d better stop, she’ll slit your throat.” Haiden said in a low deadly voice. The noise stopped immediately.

Squatting down before the man, Imani showed him the taser. “I’m going to ask you questions, I don’t want to hear bullshit. If I don’t like what I hear, I’ll zap your balls with this.”

She put the taser to the man’s crotch and zapped him. His body arched off the ground, and she heard a choking noise. She wasn’t sure if it was the woman or the man.

“I thought you were joking about that.” Haiden said in a low voice.

“I never joke about work.” She answered. She walked around the bed and came to stand by Haiden. She looked at the woman. She looked like a crackhead, with scabs all over her face, her hair matted. She could smell the woman, she stunk badly. They’d not turned on the light, but she could clearly see this woman was an addict.

Imani leaned down, her voice soft and deadly.

“I’m going to be asking your man some questions. Then I’m going to be asking you questions. I will peel the skin from your body if I don’t get my answers. Nod if you understand.”

The woman stared up at her, and Imani didn’t think she could see her in the dark. It was pitch black in the room. Imani pulled her knife, and drew it across the woman’s leg, causing a deep gout of blood to pearl to the surface. The woman groaned.

“I asked you a question and you didn’t answer. Now, I’ll ask one more time, then I’ll peel a chunk of your leg off. Will you answer my questions? Nod your head if you understand.” Imani said, her voice even.

The woman now nodded quickly, whimpering. Imani went back around the bed and stood over the man, who was now moaning.

“I’m going to take this sock out of your mouth. If you make a noise, I’ll zap you in the balls again, but I’ll let it go until I smell your balls sizzle. Am I clear? You understand?” She asked and saw his nod.

When she pulled out the sock, the man groaned. She pulled her hand back and smacked the man in the face with her palm. There was a loud crack and the woman on the bed moaned.

“Okay asshole, where are those two women, chained in that room going?” She asked.

“No place.” He croaked.

“So, you’re just keeping them here for fun? For your own use?”

“No, my connection got wacked.” He said, she watched as he licked his lips.

“I know, I’m the one that wacked him.” She said, smiling.

“Shit.” The man hissed.

“Shit is right. So, what were you going to do with them?” She asked.

“We were going to get rid of them.” He said, his voice wavering.

“Who is we?” She asked.

“Me and Amy.” He said, nodding his head to the bed.

“As in kill them and dump the body?” She asked conversationally.

When he hesitated, she put the taser on his
