Imani laughed and shook her head. “Oh no you don’t. I’m not ready for that. It’s been over eight years and you’re not a bicycle that I’ll just hop back onto. Let’s take this slow, okay.”
“Absolutely, we have all the time in the world, now that we have that asshole pegged. You’ll have to meet Jezebel one of these days though. I can’t say that she won’t be jealous, just warning you.”
“Idiot.” She laughed and pulled Haiden to her for another kiss.

Nobu found Best’s house, it was a nice one and had to say thanks once more to Google Earth, they got the lay of the land.
“What is really nice, is that this property is surrounded by five acres of woods. You’ll be able to go in, just watch out for bears, mind you, and survey the house before you go in. If we were closer, I’d put up mini cams. I also found out there is a security system. I’ve got the codes, so once you’re there, I’ll disable them.”
“Any wife or kids or grandkids in the home?” Imani asked, she had a plate of pizza and was nibbling on it.
“Nope, he’s a widower. There is a staff there, but they are only there working during the day. They go home and come back at six am. You’ll be gone long before that. The house has three entrances, but it doesn’t matter which you use, since there are no neighbors. There are security cameras, but those along with the house alarms will be deactivated. Senator Best is pro-guns, so more than likely, he’ll have something in his nightstand.”
“I say we go in, taser him, tie him up and then reconnoiter the house, to make sure there are no unwanted guests. Does he have any dogs?” Imani asked.
“No, so that’s good. He’s is due to be back in Washington on Monday, which of course he won’t be.” Nobu grinned.
“We’ll have to wear gloves, unless you can make a batch of that stuff in the hotel room.” Haiden said.
“Yeah, just make sure we take a quality glove. I’ll also want to use heavy duty zip ties around the wrists.” Imani said.
“I’ll need a bigger hat for my hair.” Haiden said.
“Cut it.” Nobu grinned.
“No. Idiot.” Imani said.
“I’ll overnight your taser and knife on Monday.” Nobu said, “since your leaving on Tuesday, it will be there at the Hotel by the time you get there.”
“How about the car?” Haiden asked.
“Done, it will be at the hotel parking lot, and the keys will be left at the desk, in an envelope of course. Your outfits will be in airtight sealed bags, so don’t open them until you are on property.” Nobu warned.
“Got it. Anything else? Anyone scheduled to visit Best during his home stay?” Imani asked.
“He has something going on Friday night, but of course, he won’t be attending.” Nobu snickered. Imani smiled. She could see her friend was just as angry as she was. He was dealing with it well and seemed to take pleasure in the planning for the bastard’s demise.
“Okay, so we are all set for a go on Tuesday. If something happens, and I don’t think it will, we’ll abort. But at 2am on Wednesday morning, I don’t think we’ll run into much, except a bear. Go ahead and overnight a gun. I want a weapon. My Ruger.” She said.
“I’ll also have you send my Sig Sauer, I’d feel better about having it.” Haiden said, and Imani grinned at him. He grinned back, then Imani turned and said “Shut up.” To Nobu who’d opened his mouth to say something asinine. Nobu grinned and laughed.
“Yes, I know you Nobu. You just can’t keep your mouth shut. Idiot.” She sniggered.
“I can have a couple of weapons put into the car that will be waiting for you. My contact is very good, very discreet.” Nobu said.
“What do you think?” Haiden asked Imani.
“I don’t know. I’m always on the fence about using an unknown weapon.” She said, biting her bottom lip.
“My guy is good Imani, really good. That’s why I go to him. It is expensive, but worth the money.” Nobu said.
“Okay, but I want a Ruger, and a Sig for Haiden. Send extra gloves in the overnight package, along with the heavy-duty zip ties and taser and knife. I can take enough solution for our fingertips at least. I’ll have an ounce of it in my luggage.” Imani said, feeling better about the decision.
“Then it’s a go?” Nobu asked.
“It is. Also, I want to take a look again at his property. I don’t want any surprises.” Imani said.

The flight to Denver was uneventful. Haiden had grown his beard longer and was wearing brown contacts. His driver’s license was Jake Soto. Imani was Gwen Chance. She wore her long brown wig and glasses. No one had looked twice at the couple. They’d gone to the Holiday Inn Express and picked up their packages along with the keys to the vehicle in the hotel parking lot. Imani had sent Haiden to drive around in the car, a 2015 Honda Civic, to make sure it ran well and filled with a full tank.
She wasn’t antsy, nor nervous, but she did want to get this over with. She had a job this weekend in Paris and she wanted to be clear headed for that one. She resented Best for putting her in this position, for looking over her shoulder. She couldn’t say she was sorry meeting Haiden, even though she’d discounted him before she’d known him. She laughed at that. His cover as a metrosexual was a good one. He’d put her off.
They shared the room at the Holiday Inn, which was a nice one with a
