A thousand brass masks glared at Corum across the water (тысяча латунных масок пристально смотрела на Корума через воду; to glare — ослепительно сверкать; уставляться взглядом /часто злым/, пристально смотреть) as the tide slowly receded and the causeway began to appear below the surface (по мере того, как течение медленно отступало = отлив усиливался, а дамба начинала виднеться под поверхностью /воды/).

He knew that the Pony Tribes would unite one day, it seems (кажется, он знал, что племена на пони объединятся однажды).

Beldan looked pale.

`I wish I had read that treatise, said Corum. He swallowed a deep breath of the freezing air. `Is there none here with actual experience of war?
