Wow, he sounded like a spoiled brat. I could understand not wanting to talk, but if Kait thought I would be helpful, then maybe he should.
David shot me a withering glance. I rolled my shoulders. “David, I think you should at least talk to Kait about it. I’m worried about you.”
He seemed to deflate as he nodded. “Fine. Kait, I will meet you in the living room in a minute.”
Kait nodded and gave me a quick kiss before leaving the room.
David glared at me for a second. “I understand that you are worried, but I wish you would trust me enough to know if I actually need to talk about something.”
I knelt on the bed next to him. His eyes went to my cleavage where the robe gaped open a little. I put my finger under his chin and tilted his head up so he would meet my eyes. “Just like you will do for me, I will do whatever it takes to keep you safe, and that includes your mental health. I can’t read minds, but I think I have a pretty good idea what that nightmare was about. I believe with all my heart that Kait will be able to help you process what happened, and even move past it. Take it from me, traumatic things have a way of biting you in the ass when you least expect it if you don’t deal with them.”
His eyes softened, and he kissed me. “Okay. I’ll go talk to Kait.” He sat up, swinging his legs over the edge of the bed. He started blushing a little as he stood up and hurried to the closet. I watched the muscles in his back move, transferring my gaze to his butt as he bent a little to get some sweatpants out of the built-in cubbyhole. Travis tapped me on the shoulder and made a motion like I should wipe my mouth. My hand froze on the way up as Travis started laughing.
“Bastard!” David turned around at my outburst and gave me a puzzled look as he took in Travis, who was laughing so hard now he could barely stand. I shrugged. I wasn’t going to explain it. David started smirking as he picked up what Travis was laughing about. He shook his head as he left the room.
Travis sobered up and came back to the bed, climbing in next to me.
He looked a little sheepish as he said hesitantly, “Do you look at my butt the same way?”
I could feel myself blush, but I answered him honestly. “Yes, I do. And Kait’s butt, too, if you must know. You all have excellent bodies, and I enjoy watching you move.”
He grinned at me, before swooping in to kiss me. It was a swift kiss, but I was breathing hard by the end of it. “I love that you like watching us, Babe. I like watching you too. I want to do things with you that I have never wanted to do with anyone else.” My heart skipped a beat, but he didn’t stop there. “I want to explore with you, just like we did earlier. We will learn together what we enjoy.” He kissed me again, this time, going slowly. My hands began to move over his body, but he grabbed them and pinned them between us. Eventually, he pulled back. “I can’t express how much I love you, Evalia.”
I smiled and replied, “I feel the same about you, Travis.”
He rolled over on his back, pulling me in tight. I laid my head on his shoulder and drifted off to sleep.
Chapter 13
When I woke up, I had a new determination. I don’t know where it came from, I just knew that I wasn’t going to continue hiding. This had gone beyond ridiculous, and I was ready to fight for my right to live.
Travis was already gone, so I climbed out of bed and got ready for the day. I took out my contacts and dripped some eye drops in my eyes before putting in a fresh set. Even though I shouldn’t wear contacts in the shower, I needed to shave my legs, which was impossible if I couldn’t see. After my shower, I removed the water from my hair with my powers but left it free today. I badly needed to get it cut, but I doubted there was a stylist between dimensions. Once I was done with my morning routine, I went searching for the guys.
I found them in the living room, huddled in a circle with their heads together. “What now?”
They all three looked up at me at the same time, a guilty expression on two of the three faces. Kait’s face, of course, was bland. He also was the one that answered. “We were discussing our plan of attack. Wanna join us?”
“Sure.” I sat down on the couch with David and Travis. Kait was sitting on a chair that he had pulled up to the couch.
“Here’s what we have so far, but I warn you it’s not much. Our goal is to stop the Svikari, preferably crush them until they have to give up. We do not want to leave them any strength to continue to fight. We think we need to attack their base and take out their leadership. Stefa is in custody, but there are still at least four other leaders we need to take out as well as their seconds. All in all, we have identified 20 people that we need to remove from action. Unfortunately, Princess, they either need to be killed in the fight or they need to be executed. That includes Stefa. If we leave them alive, they will be a rallying point for the rest of the movement.” I nodded, since I didn’t think I could trust my voice. I knew there would be casualties and I knew that my, I mean, Stefa, would be one of them. He continued, “The royal spies have
