“Sorry, I was going to shave and get a haircut, but things have been so busy,” I reply.
“Life in a ZA is pretty crazy,” jokes Dr. Vargas.
“Just wanted to see how you were doing Dani,” I say to Dr. Vargas.
Dr. Vargas looks down at the tile floor and then at me and replies, “Things are okay around here, but just be careful today. I heard it could get messy out there.”
“What did you hear?” I ask Dr. Vargas.
Dr. Vargas is about to answer, and William and Bruce enter the Medical room. Bruce is in full gear and he has his whip, a large sword on his back, and a handgun in each of his thigh holsters. William is also in full gear, with his long black hair tied back, and he has a long sword on his back as well as a handgun in each of his hip holsters.
William asks Dr. Vargas, “Do you have those medical supplies doc?”
“Yeah, right here,” answers Dr. Vargas and she shows William and Bruce two large black duffel bags.
Bruce grabs the two duffel bags and William looks at me and says, “Come on Ryan, we are leaving now.”
I look at Dr. Vargas and I say goodbye. Dr. Vargas looks like she wants to cry, and I wonder why she is so upset as I exit the Medical room with William and Bruce.
“Where are we going today? Are we in danger?” I ask William and Bruce as we walkdown the empty Haven interior hallway.
“We are going after the Conquerors today,” answers William.
I feel that William’s answer is short and not providing nearly enough information for me to feel comfortable with the mission today.
I stop walking and ask, “That’s all you can say?”
William and Bruce stop walking, and William says to Bruce, “Go ahead and go as planned. Have the groups move out and we’ll meet at the shopping center.”
I see Bruce walk away with a black duffel bag in each hand and I look at William.
“Ryan, Jeremy and his group are pinned down. We are going to rescue him and also attack the Conquerors,” says William to me.
“Where is he? Is he hurt?” I ask.
“As far as I know he is okay, but we need to hurry to get to him,” answers William.
I walk with William towards the Haven parking lot and I hear several vehicle tires screech as they quickly exit the Haven parking lot.
I hear over William’s radio that is clipped onto his belt, “We are on the move to location one.”
William walks over to Shaun and Phil and I follow behind William.
“Now gentlemen, we are going after the Conquerors today, but we are also trying to save my son,” says William.
“What are we waiting for?” asks Phil.
William smiles at Phil and answers, “We have several groups going out and they each have their parts to play.”
“What’s our part?” asks Shaun.
“Find Jeremy and bring him home,” answers William.
“Where is he?” I ask William.
“He’s in a shopping center,” answers William.
BOOM!
We hear a loud explosion in the distance from the Haven.
William picks up his radio and asks, “Was that you Tran?”
Phil, Shaun, and I look at each other.
“Yes sir, we took out the building with the Conquerors in it,” answers Tran over the radio.
William looks at me and says, “Glad we knew which buildings to blow up as they marked them for us.”
BOOM!
BOOM!
Two more explosions go off in the distance.
“Two more buildings down and one to go,” says Tran over the radio.
“I think we can go now,” says William and then William enters an electric truck and starts the electric truck.
I get into the passenger seat, of the electric truck William just got into, after giving Phil my backpack and Phil and Shaun get into the backseat of the electric truck.
William says into his radio, “I’m on the move. I’ll meet you at the shopping center.”
William reverses out of the parking spot and exits the Haven parking lot.
“How do you know Jeremy is okay?” I ask William as he speeds down an empty road.
I see smoke trails in the sky which are most likely from the buildings that Tran and the Haven Warriors blew up.
“Hector let me know that he got to Jeremy and that he is wounded, but he’s okay,” answers William.
I am kind of shocked to see that William is so calm, at least on the outside, about Jeremy being wounded and in danger.
“Any sign of Jacob and DK?” asks Shaun, from the backseat of the electric truck, to William.
Phil sees some weapons, explosives, and a large gun that is partially covered by a tarp in the back of the electric truck bed that William is driving.
“Li and her group are checking out a couple buildings and homes for them, but I don’t think they are around here,” answers William.
BANG! BOOM! DAKKA!
Gunfire and explosions go off in the distance at a nearby shopping center and William stops his electric truck in the center of the road about 200 feet from the shopping center entrance.
“I think we need to wait for the….” says William and just as William finishes his statement a large explosion goes off.
BOOM!
I see a large fireball and smoke in the shopping center parking lot.
William asks into his radio, “Was that you Bruce?”
The smoke clears, but the sounds of a large fire burning is heard, seen, and smelled.
“Yes sir, all clear. The shopping center entrance is all clear now,” answers Bruce over the radio.
William drives forward and he enters a small shopping center.
