“Now I want Shaun and Phillip to go onto the roof and provide a lookout for us. I’m sure we’ll have company here,” says William as he parks near the front entrance of the small supermarket.
“Clear, the supermarket entrance is clear,” says Bruce over the radio.
“We have done our part and we are heading back home,” says Tran over the radio.
William, Shaun, Phil, and I exit from William’s electric truck.
William runs into the supermarket entrance and Phil, Shaun, and I look at each other.
“How do we get to the roof?” asks Shaun.
Phil answers, “Probably around back.”
“Be careful,” I say to Shaun and Phil.
Phil and Shaun run to the back of the supermarket and I see Phil and Shaun each kill a zombie that is near the back alley behind the supermarket.
I grab my backpack and enter the supermarket.
I see Bruce, several Haven Warriors next to Bruce, and then I see several wounded Haven Warriors, Hector, William, and Jeremy.
Jeremy looks to be okay, but he does have a cut on his left shoulder.
“It’s not a bite, I got cut by a Conqueror,” says Jeremy to me.
I look over Jeremy’s cut and see that he has a large cut on his right thigh as well.
“Man, you got cut up,” I say with a joking tone.
“Yeah, that one fucker got me good, but I was able to take him out,” replies Jeremy.
Shaun and Phil enter the supermarket through the main entrance, and they say, “You can’t get to the roof from behind the store.”
“Try the back storage room,” says Bruce to Shaun and Phil.
I clean out Jeremy’s wounds, patch him up, and I tell Jeremy, “You have to take it easy. Especially on that right thigh. You have to let the stitches heal.”
“For how long?” asks Jeremy.
“Give it at least a week, I put the healing accelerant on the stitches and in the wound, so it will heal faster, but you still need to give it time to heal,” I answer Jeremy.
“Thanks doc,” replies Jeremy.
“Two, no three vehicles full of Conquerors are coming your way,” says a Haven Warrior over the radio.
“Get up to the roof now,” says William.
Bruce tells two Haven Warriors to get up to the roof and help Shaun and Phil.
William tells Bruce to get the stuff from the back of his electric truck.
Bruce and two Haven Warriors run out the front entrance of the supermarket.
BANG! BANG!
Two gunshots are heard from the roof of the supermarket.
“Talk to me, what do you see up there?” asks William into his radio.
“Three trucks filled with Conquerors,” answers a Haven Warrior over the radio.
Bruce and two Haven Warriors enter the supermarket with a large weapon and a stand for the weapon.
“Where should we put this?” asks a Haven Warrior to William.
William looks around the supermarket and answers, “Set it up right here and aim it at the entrance.”
I see Bruce and two Haven Warriors setup a large all-black weapon that has several barrels and a large chamber for large rounds of ammunition onto a stand.
“Is that a gun turret?” I ask
“Wait to you see this thing in action,” answers Hector to me.
“Let’s move away from it,” says William and I help Jeremy move away from the front entrance of the supermarket.
“Force them towards the front entrance,” says William into his radio.
BANG! BOOM!
A gunshot and a large explosion is heard outside of the supermarket.
“They are coming towards you now,” answers a Haven Warrior over the radio.
I see five Conquerors make their way towards the entrance of the supermarket.
“Now!” shouts William.
Bruce clicks a remote that is in his right hand and the all-black weapon that is on the stand starts to rapidly fire rounds of ammunition towards the Conquerors.
DAKKA! DAKKA! DAKKA!
I hide behind a shelf inside the supermarket as the rounds of ammunition are fired out of the weapon.
The sounds of flesh, bone, and tissue being ripped off the Conquerors bodies is heard.
The barrels of the weapon stops spinning, and I peek out from behind the shelf.
“We got them,” says Bruce.
“They’re gone,” says a Haven Warrior over the radio.
CRUNCH! CRUNCH! CRUNCH!
The sounds of people walking on broken glass pieces is heard as Bruce and several Haven Warriors look over what remains of the Conquerors that entered the supermarket.
I see that only limbs and shoes remain of the Conquerors that entered the supermarket.
“How we looking Li?” asks William into his radio.
Bruce looks at William and nervously waits for Li to answer.
Phil, Shaun, and two Haven Warriors come over to me and Hector as we stand inside the supermarket.
“Where did you get this weapon?” I ask Hector.
“Javi,” answers Hector.
Bruce looks at his radio and starts to worry as Li hasn’t answered William yet.
I see the worried expression on Bruce’s face and then I hear a female voice over the radio, “The buildings were empty and no sign of them.”
“Very good, we’ll meet you back home,” answers William to Li into his radio.
I see a smile on Bruce’s face and then Bruce sees me looking at him and Bruce quickly stops smiling.
“Any food left in this store?” asks Shaun.
I smile after hearing Shaun’s question and I’m glad he’s doing well and still worrying about food.
“Let’s get back home, we were successful today,” says William.
I get a call over my radio, “Ryan, come in Ryan.”
“This is Ryan,” I say into my radio.
“Brad and Faith are here,” says Brody over the radio.
“We aren’t home, and I’m not sure when we’ll be back,” I say
