“Did you see Shaun and Lisa?” asks Lauren.
“Yeah, Shaun was with Phil, William, and me and Lisa we saw for like two seconds before she went to her room,” I answer Lauren.
“I hope she is doing well,” says Lauren.
“She looked good, but she wasn’t really happy to see Phil and I and she probably didn’t like Shaun going out to fight the Conquerors,” I reply.
“But what happened around here while we were gone?” I ask Lauren.
“Not much, but I’m sure you saw that Brad and this woman were here,” answers Lauren.
“Yeah, the woman is Faith,” I reply.
“Who is Faith?” asks Lauren.
“She’s the woman from the stadium that lost her daughter,” I answer Lauren.
Lauren looks down and replies, “That’s gotta be tough to lose a daughter.”
I think about Faith and what she has to be going through and I think about our meeting today and how short I was with her.
“Yeah, it’s gotta be tough,” I say.
“Well, I’m glad you and Phil are safe,” says Lauren.
“Me too, anything go on with the two new guards?” I ask Lauren.
“Nothing really, it was pretty quiet, but I think they might have met with JJ or someone in the back cul-de-sac,” answers Lauren.
“How do you know?” I ask Lauren.
I was walking around the neighborhood and decided to talk with Kim, and I saw the two guards walking into the cul-de-sac as I was leaving.
“Did you see where they went?” I ask Lauren.
“I’m not sure as I wanted to get away from them, but they walked straight in the cul-de-sac and I think they either went to Deb and Jordan’s or JJ and Darlene’s,” answers Lauren.
“Good detective work sweetie,” I say to Lauren.
Lauren smiles and jokes, “I have some detective skills.”
I jump in the shower and try to relax.
Phil calls me over the radio, “Ryan, you there?”
“Yeah, I’m here,” I answer Phil into my radio as I lie in bed.
“Saba said that we can come by the same building that Bakari brought us to before,” says Phil over the radio.
“Great, thank you. Did he give a time?” I ask into my radio.
“He said anytime as he’ll be in his lab all day tomorrow,” answers Phil.
“Very good, thank you. Let’s plan on leaving around noon tomorrow,” I reply into my radio.
“You sleeping in or something?” jokes Phil over the radio.
“Let everyone know and we can meet at Shaun’s house tomorrow,” I reply into my radio.
“You got it, see you tomorrow,” says Phil over the radio.
It’s the next morning and I’m with Lauren and Fran at our dining room table and we are enjoying a nice breakfast.
“You ever going to cut that hair of yours?” asks Fran to me.
I chuckle and answer, “Yeah, I planned on having someone cut it today.”
“Good, because you are starting to look like a hobo,” replies Fran.
“A hobo?” jokingly asks Lauren.
“Yeah, a hobo, you know a bum, a derelict, a vagrant, a wanderer,” answers Fran.
“We know what you meant and thanks for the kind description,” I say to Fran with a joking tone.
I place my plate in the kitchen sink and ask Lauren, “You think you could cut my hair today?”
“When? I thought you were going to see Saba today?” answers Lauren.
“Not until noon, we have three hours before I have to leave,” I answer Lauren.
“Let me finish my breakfast and I’ll meet you in our bathroom,” says Lauren.
I go into our master bathroom and I get my hair cutting kit and electric razor.
I turn on the electric razor and notice that my beard needs to be trimmed with scissors first before I can use the electric razor on my face.
This is the longest my hair on my face and head have ever been and I almost don’t recognize myself as I look in my mirror.
Lauren comes into our master bathroom and cuts my hair.
Lauren finishes cutting my hair and I look at myself in the mirror. My face is clean shaven, and my hair is much shorter and looks much better.
“I cut it shorter than usual, but I think it looks good,” says Lauren.
“Thank you sweetie, it looks great,” I say to Lauren and then I kiss Lauren on the lips.
I take a shower, put on clean clothes, and put on my gear.
“What do you have planned today?” I ask Lauren as I put on my bulletproof vest over my long sleeved red shirt.
“Probably meet up with Kim and Kylie today,” answers Lauren.
“Just keep an eye out for Dalton and Dean,” I say to Lauren.
“Who?” asks Lauren.
“The two guards, I think their names are Dean and Dalton,” I answer Lauren.
Lauren chuckles and says, “That sounds about right.”
I walk into my garage and grab my Ghost mask and notice that it has some black and grey dirt on it.
I try to wipe off the black and grey dirt but only the black dirt comes off and the grey dirt won’t come off.
I spray some cleaning solution on the grey dirt, but it still won’t come off.
“Great,” I say as I look at my Ghost mask that is now white and grey, and still has that black dot on it.
“I hope Saba can paint over the grey,” I say as I look at my Ghost mask.
I say goodbye to Lauren and exit my house.
I enter Bobby G’s house and grab the walkie-talkie that DK gave me.
I wonder if the walkie-talkie has some sort of tracking device, or camera, or something in it, and I want Saba to check it out.
I wonder if taking the walkie-talkie with me is the
