I think about what to do and I grab some aluminum foil from a base kitchen cabinet and wrap the walkie-talkie in aluminum foil.
After making sure the walkie-talkie is covered in aluminum foil I place the walkie-talkie in my bag and exit Bobby G’s house.
I make my way over to Shaun’s garage and I see Phil and Jon standing inside Shaun’s garage.
“Who is that man?” shouts Phil as I walk up Shaun’s driveway.
I smile at Phil’s question.
“About time you got a haircut,” says Phil.
“Yeah, yeah I know,” I reply.
Phil says, “You have to keep your hair short, can’t risk those zombies grabbing your hair.”
Jon grabs some of his hair and thinks that his hair is pretty long and that he should get it cut.
“Just us three today?” I ask.
“Yeah, no one else wanted to come,” answers Jon.
As I’m standing with Phil and Jon inside Shaun’s garage, I hear a car come speeding around the corner and it’s coming towards Shaun’s house.
I see the car and I notice the windows are down, there is loud music blasting, and the car has several people in it.
Jon and Phil see the car as it drives by Shaun’s house and approaches our closed main entrance gate.
“Isn’t that JJ’s car?” asks Phil.
“Yeah,” answers Jon.
Our main entrance gate opens, and Jaws Junior’s car exits Citrus Oaks.
I pick up my radio and ask, “Where is that car going?”
Brody answers over the radio, “They didn’t say, but it was Jaws Junior, Dalton, and Dean.”
“Should we go after them sir?” asks Brody over the radio.
I look at Phil and Jon and answer into my radio to Brody, “No, they are on their own.”
“Are you sure sir?” asks Brody over the radio.
“Yeah, we have other things to worry about,” I answer into my radio to Brody.
“Where do you think they were going?” asks Jon.
I look at our main gate and answer Jon, “I don’t know, and I really don’t care.”
CHAPTER 13
WE ARE STAYING BUSY
“Why did you wrap it in tin foil?” asks Saba as I hand him my walkie-talkie as Jon, Phil, and I are in his large laboratory and workshop.
“I think it could have a camera or tracker in it,” I answer Saba.
“Oh, that’s kind of smart then,” says Saba.
“Where did you learn that from?” asks Phil to me.
I smile, but don’t reply to Phil.
Saba unwraps my walkie-talkie and starts to examine the outside of my walkie-talkie. Saba grabs a screwdriver and unscrews the back of my walkie-talkie.
Jon looks around Saba’s lab and he is amazed at all the gadgets, tools, weapons, and equipment that Saba has in his large open laboratory and workshop.
“So where is Bakari and the rest of the gang?” asks Phil as he looks around Saba’s lab and notice that Phil’s somewhat loud tone causes a small echo in Saba’s lab.
“They should be back either today or tomorrow,” answers Saba.
“Where did they go?” I ask Saba as I watch Saba take off the back plate of my walkie-talkie.
“I’m not sure exactly but I think they were going to check out a couple new places and meet with some contacts from the prison,” answers Saba.
Saba removes the front plate of my walkie-talkie and I ask Saba, “The prison? What’s Bakari doing at the prison?”
Saba looks at me and answers, “They aren’t going to the prison but they’re checking in with their contacts from the prison.”
Saba finds something on my walkie-talkie and says, “You definitely have a device on this walkie and I’m pretty sure it’s a tracker with a motion detector.”
I look at the device on my walkie-talkie and say, “That son of a bitch, that’s how he knows when I’m around the walkie.”
Phil and Jon are looking at a couple different objects on a large table away from Saba and me.
“Do you want me to disable it?” asks Saba.
“Ryan, what are you doing to the gift I gave you?” asks DK over the walkie as the walkie sits on Saba’s table.
Saba looks at me with a shocked expression and says, “Guess the device is more than just a GPS tracker.”
I pick up my walkie-talkie and say into it, “Says the guy who has a tracker on it.”
“I wouldn’t remove the device on the walkie as it may explode,” says DK over the walkie.
Phil and Jon, who were walking towards Saba and me, stop walking after hearing about the explosive in the walkie-talkie.
“Is he lying?” I ask Saba.
Saba checks my walkie-talkie and sees a small wire connected to a small piece of plastic explosive.
Saba points to the small piece of plastic explosive and answers, “I think he has it rigged to blow up if I remove it.”
“By now you hopefully realized that I’m not lying. I never lie Ryan, you’ll always know where you stand with me,” says DK over the walkie.
“What do we do?” I ask Saba.
Saba shrugs his shoulders and answers, “Nothing I guess. I can’t remove it.”
“The walkie won’t explode unless you remove the connection wires, so you are safe to keep using it,” says DK over the walkie.
“Is that true?” I ask Saba.
Saba looks over my walkie-talkie one last time and answers, “I think so as I don’t see anything else dangerous about the walkie.”
“I think having a piece of plastic explosive is pretty fucking dangerous,” says Phil as he stands with Jon about ten feet away from Saba and me.
“You and your black friend there are safe, don’t worry. I don’t plan on killing you, you are still pretty important
