for now,” says DK over the walkie.

I look down at my walkie and don’t know what to do. Should I get rid of the walkie and how do I do it without DK knowing I purposely got rid of it?

“Now, you are probably thinking of the best way to get rid of your walkie and that would be pretty smart… But I still need to be in contact with you and your walkie is the best way to do that,” says DK over the walkie.

“Then why booby trap it?” I ask into my walkie-talkie.

“Insurance, everyone needs insurance in life and that’s mine with you,” answers DK over the walkie.

“You think I can trust you now? You plant a bomb on something you give me, and I’m supposed to thank you for it?” I ask into my walkie-talkie with an angry tone.

“Just be thankful that I haven’t killed you and your people yet. I’ll show you that you can trust me,” says DK over the walkie.

CLICK!

I hear DK turn off his walkie and I look at my walkie-talkie that I’m holding in my right hand.

“You can’t keep that thing Ryan,” says Jon as he is still standing with Phil about ten feet away from me and Saba.

I look back at Jon and Phil and see that they are standing still like they are afraid to move. I laugh and say to Phil and Jon, “You don’t have to stand like mannequins, I think the explosive would have went off already if it was going to.”

“What do you want to do with your walkie?” asks Saba to me.

I think about Saba’s question and answer, “I guess nothing. I can’t risk disconnecting the device and having it explode.”

Phil walks over to me and says, “Well now you know it’s there and just be careful with it.”

“Will the tin foil do anything for the device?” I ask Saba.

“It should block the GPS tracker signal,” answers Saba.

“Can you put the cover plates back on?” I ask Saba.

“Yeah,” answers Saba and Saba carefully takes the walkie-talkie from me.

As Saba is putting the cover plates back onto my walkie-talkie, Ayo and Cyrus come into Saba’s lab.

“Hey Ryan, what’s going on?” asks Ayo as he and Cyrus come over to Saba, Phil, Jon, and me.

“Just having Saba check something out for me,” I answer Ayo.

“How was your trip?” asks Phil to Ayo.

Cyrus gives Phil a questioning look and asks, “How do you know about our trip?”

“Because I told them,” answers Saba as he screws the back cover plate of my walkie-talkie on.

“You love telling people our business,” says Cyrus.

“Ryan and his group are good people, you know what I and B have said about them,” replies Saba.

“Is Bakari or Isiah here now?” I ask Cyrus.

Cyrus gives me a death stare and Ayo answers, “Yeah, they should be in their condos.”

Saba covers my walkie-talkie with tin foil and looks around his workstation for something.

Saba doesn’t see what he’s looking for and asks Ayo, “Can you get me one of the medium sized black zip bags?”

Ayo walks over to a nearby table and moves a couple things and asks Saba, “One of the sandwich sized bags?”

“Yeah, that should work,” answers Saba.

Ayo finds a bag that Saba wants.

Saba puts my walkie-talkie in the medium sized thick black bag that Ayo just gave him, and Saba says to me, “The walkie won’t be able to be tracked in the bag.”

I’m handed the medium sized black bag and Phil jokes, “Nice lunch bag.”

“Thank you Saba, I’m sorry for what we found though,” I say to Saba.

“Me too, but I hope that guy doesn’t cause you anymore trouble. Who was that guy?” replies Saba.

“His name is DK and he’s part of the Conquerors,” I answer Saba.

Phil sees Cyrus look at Ayo after hearing me say DK’s name.

“You think we could meet with Bakari?” I ask Cyrus.

“He’s tired from the trip today and plus he’s with his lady,” answers Cyrus.

“I doubt I and B would like to hear that Ryan was here and they didn’t get a chance to talk with him,” says Saba as he looks at Cyrus.

Cyrus picks up his radio off his belt and calls for Bakari.

“What’s the stuff you got on the tables and walls over there?” asks Jon to Saba.

Saba stands up from his workstation and asks Jon, “What stuff?”

Jon and Saba walk over to another workstation and Saba shows Jon what he was asking about.

“Tell them to come to my condo,” I hear Bakari say over the radio to Cyrus.

“Are you sure? I know you are with Aisha,” replies Cyrus into his radio.

“It’s fine, send them up,” replies Bakari over the radio to Cyrus.

Cyrus walks over to Phil and me and says, “Bakari would like to see you.”

“Sounds good,” I reply to Cyrus.

“You coming Jon?” asks Phil.

“I’m going to stay here with Saba,” answers Jon.

“Okay, we’ll come back for you,” replies Phil and then Phil, Cyrus and I exit Saba’s lab.

As Phil, Cyrus, and I walk towards the elevators Phil asks Cyrus, “Were you on the o-line or d-line?”

Cyrus hits the up button for the elevator and asks Phil, “Does it matter?”

The elevator doors open, and we get into the empty elevator.

“Well, no but I was just curious is all,” answers Phil.

“I was a punter,” says Cyrus with a serious tone.

Phil looks at me and I see Cyrus crack a smile.

“He was a defensive tackle,” I say.

Cyrus looks at me and asks, “How’d you know that?”

“I operated on a couple lineman that you injured,” I answer Cyrus.

“Football is a brutal sport, every play was a battle out there,” replies Cyrus.

The elevator doors open, and
