"Of course I think I can."
"That means we're going to have to pretend we're happy together."
"I would think so." When we got close enough I put an arm around Rachel's shoulders. "Put your arm around my waist Rachel."
Rachel gave me a dirty look. Great she couldn't even pretend to like me. "I think you'll enjoy that too much."
"Fine Rachel we'll just hold hands."
When we got up there she talked to the guards, but I couldn't hear what they were saying. When she came back she was nearly laughing. "They said we can go for a walk, but if we don't come back in an hour or two they'll call the cops to come bring us back."
I took her gloved hand and we traveled into the dark night. We quickly crossed the street to the school. When we got to one of the side doors I pulled and it didn't open.
"Hey genius, you didn't think that we would walk up here and the door would magically open for you, did you?"
"Well, they sometimes forget to lock this door. Don't ask how I know."
"Okay, now you're just scaring me. What kind of things did you do before me?"
"We don't need to get into that now either." I turned not wanting to talk about it, but came close to laughing. I noticed the key in one of the bushes. I picked it up and dragged Rachel quietly through the halls to the principal's office.
"Why was the key just laying there?"
"It's another thing we don't need to get into right now."
She went over to the desk again except to the bottom drawer. She took off her gloves and went through the drawer so it would be easier. "Um... person, come here and see this."
I went over and there was a thick pile of papers. "There are around three hundred packets here."
"This guy really needs to find a better way to hide things. Maybe he's going through things because the lawyers are asking for things."
Rachel glanced over at me then went back to the papers. "These are our wedding papers."
I bent down next to her and looked at them. I picked the top one up and skimmed through it. "Why would our parents sign these then try to get us free?"
"I don't know, but these look like copies not the originals…"
We heard police sirens go off not far from the school. I grabbed Rachel's hand and ran back to the community pulling her along, but when got there the guards laughed saying that wasn't for us though they were happy to see us back. Rachel and I strolled back to our home a little out of breath. We were quiet to make sure the guards didn't know what we were up too.
We made our way up into the house and we hung up our coats. Rachel quickly went through her coat pockets in a panic.
"Rachel what are you doing?"
"I don't know where my gloves are."

Rachel
The more the night went on the more I thought of all the mistakes that took place. I left my gloves on the floor next to the now opened drawer with all the wedding papers which were probably now on scattered on the floor. We left the lights on and left a few other papers out. We never locked the side door when we ran out. Nick said Principal O'Doherty would never figure out that it was us because I was such a perfect student who never got into trouble. They might think it was him, but they were girl's gloves. That night I couldn't sleep no matter how hard I tried.
The next day at school we didn't hear anything about the office break in. Nick said when we got home Principal O'Doherty was just trying to scare us. That he didn't want the other students to get any ideas to rebel when they didn't have any. I think it was both, but the ‘him scaring us plan’ was definitely working on me. Now I was more determined to find a way out of here. There were a few people who started helping me too.
The new helpers came to our house to meet and talk, this was starting to be a weekly thing. There in the group Anna, Kayla, Katie, Beth, Hunter, Tom, Anthony, and Ross. Then with them Holly, Bridget, and Willow finally came to help too, which I knew they would. I think Nick told my friends of the knife event so they wanted to help more. I really think he did tell them, because they were keeping a closer eye on me like Nick was.
We all sat in a circle with some of us sitting on the couch while the rest sat on the floor.
"Why don't we try to call the stupid lawyer?" asked Kayla.
"Because ding dong she said the phones don't work here," growled Anna. "Or have you really not tried calling your family? Our cell phones don't even get service here."
"Well there are phones in the school," Kayla shot back.
Anna and Kayla were twin sisters. They couldn't be more opposite in personality.
"Nick's beginning to think that the parents didn't pick the lawyer. He thinks that Principal O'Doherty or someone found a way to hire one for the parents without one of them in knowing who did since there are so many of them."
Nick turned his head and looked at me. His deep blue eyes seemed like he really believed in this now. So maybe his heart is free of me now. I didn't think that his so called 'love' would last. This was good and bad for me. It made it easier for me to try to and get rid of the marriages without feeling like I was hurting him.
The bad reason was it was making my heart throb in pain, a lot. I guess it
